Hello Bonnie Schuette, One great resource is www.ahsgr.org (American Historical Society of Germans >From Russia). They have amazing resources such as census of many villages, books with lists of immigrants, and much more that you can check out on that website (check out their bookstore online). Most of their data is especially useful for the late 1700's and early 1800's. Tracing your family back far enough to use their information can be difficult.
