Craig,
I've put in everything I can think of and can't get the article. Get the
Times/Dispatch, today's stuff and the archives but nothing on Brock. Any
suggestions?
Even tried "The Huntington Library" (fantastic facility)--and still nothing.

Craig,
Do you think they are going to microfilm all the scraps of paper in the
will packets? I doubt it. The Dallas Library has lots of film of wills
from all over the country. I have never seen anything but the will and
probate filmed.

RIGHT, Barb,
What a thrill. I held the original Rev. War pension of my
gggg-grandmother! Also all the original will packet docs from the estate
of another Rev. War vet. Nothing can compare!

Craig,
Thanks so very much for help "above and beyond." Great article. I am
delighted they are microfilming the material and eventually we will be able
to research it. We have been to the Huntington twice--great art
collection! Also asked about some documents on one occasion but you had to
have specific permission as a scholarly researcher to have access.
Am wondering how the LVA is managing this with all the recently announced
cut-backs.

There was some conversation a short time ago about books by Klaus Wust. I
notice in the recent issue of the Willow Bend Book catalogue there is a
book available that he co-authored. "German Origins of Jost Hite, Virginia
Pioneeer 1685-1761," Henry Z. Jones, Ralph Connor, Klaus Wust. 1979 $10.00.

In Germanna Record #5 there is a discussion of one Benjamin HUFFMAN whom Dr.

Thanks for posting this information on Dr. Walter Clore. I found it very
interesting that he was born in Tecumseh, OK. I was born and raised in
Macomb, OK which is located 7 miles south of Tecumseh. I too, am a
descendant of Hans Michael Clore. Elizabeth Clore, daughter of Peter Clore
was my ggggg-grandmother. Elizabeth and Harman Wayman were the parents of
Frances Wayman who married John Riley who were my gggg-grandparents. Do
you have the name of Dr. Walter Clore's parents and do you know if

I think are referring to the post I sent about Isham Tatum, also mentioned
Henry Willis as a methodist in 1776 in Pittsylvania District, VA. If so, I
rather suppose he is a member of the Willis family from Westmoreland County,
later migrants to Orange/Culpeper area.

Here are a few thoughts but perhaps no answers and maybe a lot of errors:
1. I think the naturalizations were sent along to Williamsburg and in some
cases to England. Then I think some were published. So starting with the
county court, going on to Williamsburg, and maybe even to England, there
were multiple records of the same event.
2. Many people confused naturalizations with head rights. These were
different events.
3. The laws changed with regard to the procedures to be followed.

John, I have a couple of points on this great note on the Yager baptisms.
John Weaver was the nephew of Walburga Weaver she was also the mother-in-law
of two of Michael Yager's brothers, John and Nicholas. John's Grandmother,
and Walburga's mother was Susanna Clore Weaver Crigler Yager, the step
grandmother at the time of all of the Yagers. I admit that this is a slim
connection, but it is a connection none the less.
Barbara Kaifer Weaver was the wife of John Weaver. She was also the sister
of Dorothea Ka
Hi Andreas,
An interesting tidbit - My husband's ancestress Anna Catherine, widow of
Johann Gerhard Anthony Henckel, and her second husband Thomas Wilson were
(according to the Henckel Genealogy by Junkin and Junkin) married by Rev.
John Casper Stoever on 1 February 1737 at St. James Church in Lancaster, PA.

I don't know. In St. Louis they film every scrap of paper. In Virginia,
where this bill is filed, we are lucky they have preserved anything from the
past already.

Jane,
Thanks for your interest in Germanna.
Go to our Germanna website www.germanna.org there you can read about the two
colonies 1714 and 1717. You can also order a free copy of the newsletter by
clicking on the Brochure button on the left of your screen. We also have a
book, Germanna Record Number 4 about John Jacob Rector, and there is some
information on Rev. Haeger in Germanna Record Number 5. Click on the
publications button to read descriptions of the books and order them on the
web if you like.
