I am researching Rice Graves of Albemarle Co. Va who married Elizabeth Mawyer. In 1850 census he lived near James Graves and Susan Moran. This could be Rice's father but I have no proof. Anyone out there related to James? Diane

7. [GRAVES-L] I have two Graves Ancestors [1]
I see that the Graves Family Association has been updated April 2003. I started backwards so if I followed the lineage numbers correctly. Now to show how Capt Graves is my ancestor twice this would not be uncommon back then being a new country. So I will show how John Graves and his sister Katherin Graves Spriggs m. to Thomas Spriggs also are my ancestors. Kinda gets interesting as that tree grows and you start connecting lines. Following the migration of families is important it seems they end up in the s
8. [GRAVES-L] Dr. William Samuel Graves [1]
I have had some questions about 2 lines of Graves in KY, and they were both recently mentioned in a recent e-mail. > those of John Graves and Sarah Noble of MD & KY (genealogy 96) and John M. Graves and ------ Barnes of MD & KY (genealogy 261). At least some of the descendants of all these families lived in Washington Co. and adjoining Marion Co., KY. So I thought this would be a good time for my question. Someone may have already answered my question in a previous newsletter, but due to problems with my

I am researching Thomas Graves, who may be Rice's brother, according to a newspaper article from 1920s The following is an portion of the article about my Graves family which may lend some information for you; however, please note that I have not verified any of this information at present. I would be most grateful if you would be able to share anything about Rice's and especially Thomas to further my search.. Thomas Graves finally settled on the line between Spottsylvania and Hanover counti

17. [GRAVES-L] Thomas Graves England>Mass [1]
Has anyone ever heard of Thomas Graves born July 6, 1605 in England and died July 31, 1653 at sea, who had a son Joseph born in Mass and married Elizabeth Maynard? I can't find him on the Graves Web site. Thanks. Diana
18. [GRAVES-L] Francis Graves [1]
I descend from Capt Thomas Graves , but reading the emails on the subject of Francis Graves. I have a land military warrant issued to Francis Graves for service in the Virginia Contintenal Line. Interesting about this a John Casey is also listed on the warrant. Since I also descend from Casey families this is why I had this document but I just reread the warrant deed and read that Francis Graves name on there also. I wonder how this connects as I am not sure who this Francis Graves is nor am I sure of this
19. [GRAVES-L] Excellent! Good news! [1]
Hi all! Ken Graves updated my information recently - it looks fantastic! I am so excited! I'm going to Alabama to view a family bible that was previously told to me to be "unsharable". Just had to share it with someone who would understand my excitement, Concetta PS My Graves link at the GFA is: http://www.gravesfa.org/gen207.htm
20. Re: [GRAVES-L] Revised Site for Graves family [1]
It's difficult to know where to start with the number of misunderstandings that have been posted on this list recently in regard to the Graves Family Association website, me, and the genealogy of Capt. Thomas Graves of VA. I will address at least some of these issues and will welcome more complete discussion by anyone who wants to learn more. I apologize for the length of this message, but it seemed necessary in order to address the issues. First I will address a couple of the less important comments.
21. [GRAVES-L] Graves Site [1]
Ken, Bravo to you for all your efforts for the Graves\Greaves family site and research. Unfortunately there are still many people who do not understand or appreciate the application of thorough research and documentation. They still rely on the work of "sacred cows" and don't seem to realize that none of the research is proven without documentation, much of which no longer exists. Please know that many, many of us support and appreciate your efforts. Anita Hoyer PS Maybe the site needs a link to the gene

24. [GRAVES-L] Lance GRAVES [1]
Hello All, It has been some time since I posted to this site so I though I would try again. I am searching for the father of Lance GRAVES. The Graves website says that he could possibly be the son of Lancelot GRAVES and Nancy CLARK. However, I somewhat doubt this. If Nancy CLARK was his mother she would have only be 9 years old when he was born. Lancelot GRAVES could have been his father, however, it would have been from a previous marriage. Lance's mother was called Lillie, she was a fullblood Che
25. [GRAVES] Lewis Graves, b. 1838 NY d. 1890 Michigan? [1]
Hi all! I was wondering if anyone had any information in their records about Lewis Graves who died on March 23, 1890 in Sanilac County, Michigan at the age of 51. I think he might be the mystery Lewis of my family tree, but what I'm interested in is the fact that the record states he was married, yet gives no spouse's name. Anyway, please contact me if you have any interest in discussing the mystery Lewis. Concetta
