15. Grenfell Family [1]
Hello All, My name is Arthur Grenfell Coomb and I live in Cornwall. I have been researching the Grenfell family for several years and have aquired quite a volume material on my own and other branches of the family. The last actual Grenfell in my family was my maternal 2 x great- grandmother, Avis Grenfell, second daughter of Pascoe Grenfell, a blacksmith in Marazion, and his wife Avis Oates who married 11 April 1779. Avis was born at Marazion in 1784 and married Thomas Squire at St Hilary in 1805.

Dear Susan I was delighted to see your message, as we have not had much traffic recently. I have quite a lot of info. on the branch of the family from which Wilfred Grenfell came from but obviously not the box full of specific information that you have! I am descended from the same branch if one goes far enough back!! If you like to e-mail me with what you already know of the Cornish background I will see if I have any additional knowledge. Regards Arthur Coomb Portscatho, Cornwall

I know that you are descended from Pascoe Grenfell b. 1725 and Cordelia Giles, but how? Could you please give me a couple more details on that link? One thing that was fun was that I received an email from Richard Aylmer who lives in Oxfor

Dear Richard I stayed up till 3:30 this morning inputting the info I received from my uncle Pascoe (Wilfred Thomason Grenfell's son) on "The Price Family" genealogy and it states how F.A. Aylmer married Constance Grenfell, daughter of Charles William Grenfell b. 1823 and Georgiana Larcells. What relation is F. A. Aylmer to you? I have a program called Family Tree Maker that prints what they call a "kinship report" and with the touch of a button, you can determine what your relationship is; e.g. 1st cousin
