Rich, I just now did check my CD and sorry to inform you that the Keskastel Churchbook does not include Christian with the family of Heinrich Wilhelm Goehring. So since I did not see it, Mrs. Schenk who first got that family record for me and since it is not shown in Gerhard Hein's book for Keskastel, I do not beieve it is there. However, it is possible the page is missing from the Churchbook. But I can tell you since Heinrich Wilhelm Goehring was the person who made the entries in the book for the time he
John I want to give Shelley the info she ask for, however I

as it is two pages long. Is there a limit to how much space
can be used? Also, others on the list may not be interested
in seeing that much posted. Please advise me.

I've really enjoyed reading some of the family stories, so I thought I would
take the liberty to tell one, although slightly remote from the Reebs.
As background, I am descended from Agnes Reeb, the daughter of our Heinrich
Reeb (born in 1599) of Herbitzheim, Alsace. Agnes Reeb had a great-grandson
who was Johannes Muller, my direct ancestor and from whose family I get my
surname, Miller. Johannes Muller's paternal grandfather, also of Herbitzheim, was
Andreas Muller.

Bless your heart, Myka. It is very clear now, why you have chosen to
not continue as List Administrator. Stress is the last thing you need.
I will have to admit I had never heard of CMT, so looked it up on the
internet. The name "Charcot-Marie-Tooth" is so unusual, but it gave
a simple answer to that. (Named after these three Dr.'s.)
How could anyone not admire a person like James Mills. No matter
the challenges he faced, there was the determination to live life to the
fullest.

Welcome Jason to our Gus-Reeb list. I have not been
on long but hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I am a
descendant of Gustavus Rape, born 1762 and his son
Peter Rape, born 1791.

Thanks John. We always enjoy your encouraging words. And Diann - we miss
you. We look forward to hearing more from you soon. Joe, you are such a fun
addition to the group -- always bright and cheerful. Rich, I hope you have more
stories about your visit in PA. I felt like I was standing there in PA,
studying that puzzle of the eyehooks on the exterior of the kitchen to William

Hi,
I love getting the many emails on the Rape family. I don't live to very far
from Zelienople PA and my Sister-In-Law took me past the original Rape farm
and for the life of me I can't remember all the roads we took. I did go to
the Bury Church Cemetery and got a few pictures of cemetery stones. This
was when I first started research and I now know I need to go back and get
more. With moving, and now bringing my son back to PA from SC I am in for
another busy month. I am not a Rape but married
Thanks Myka,
Sorry, I was in a big hurry to get out the door when I wrote that
message---I didn't even tell you when or where they lived. This is a
mystery for sure.
Belinda Jane Rape was born 9 SEP 1846 in Christian Co., IL, the first
of 10 children. Her parents were Noel and Elizabeth (Morgan) Rape.
Noel was the son of Jacob and Martha (Thornton) Rape. Belinda married

Samuel had two children, Mary Frances, born 21 JUL 1864, and
Well that is quite a welcome back but here I am. Yep tis me, Shannon. I've
kept up with the goings on but have remained pretty much in the background.
Most of you I've known for a few years now but for the newer members here is
my lineage:

Emil (Doc) Rape - Grace Bedford both born Idaho
Oscar Rape b. Illinois - Mattie Calkins - Wisconsin
Butler Rape Illinois - Patsey Thornton
Gustavus Rape (Reeb) NC
Peter Reeb Keskastel
Thanks for the welcome John and nice to see you all again.
When my grandmother and grandfather Rape married,
they went to Galveston, TX. on their honeymoon. My
grandmother took her sister along with them. (Mercy
me!)
My grandmother several children later, decided it was
time to stop renting and to buy a house. Heard there was
one for sell, made arrangements to buy it, hired someone
to move the furniture and was in their new abode before
time for my grandfather to get off from work. (I'd say
that was fast work.)
At that time he was working in a Dry Goods stor
Hi, Linda!
Thanks for your support. I hope your visiting relatives have interesting
tales of your family history that you can share with all of us when you have
more time. My grandparents died long before I was born. I feel I have gotten
to know them a bit through the memories of my older cousins. Our memories of
loved ones can be gifts of the heart when we share them with others. Last
year at a family reunion, an older woman much enjoyed telling me great detail

Is this Israel Rape the son of Peter Rape and Mary 'Polly' Thompson? Also,
do you have any more on Sara Laney? In addition to researching Rape, I am
also researching Laney (Titus, George, Archibald, Mary AND Titus, Catherine)
and would like to see where she fits into what I have.
Thanks,

Yes, Rich, you are definately correct about the son Christian as he is mentioned in Heinrich Wilhelm Goehring's will. Also, I am aware that you do have a double line back to Heinrich Wilhelm Goehring and I think you can be proud of that. Mr. Goehring was evidently one of the most highly respected persons to have ever lived in Keskastel. During his tenure as Lutheran School Master in Keskastel it was also his duty to write the records of the events ofbirths and baptisms, deaths and marriages which were cele

Ron, I am glad you posted this. As I am almost sure you remember we discussed your theory before and at that time for two reasons I could not agree with you. One reason was that we do know that Heinrich Reb, baptized in 1599, who was a direct line ancestor to at least four of you on this list: three descendants of Theobald Reeb who settled in Beaver/Butler County area of PA and yourself, a direct descendant of Heinrich REBs youngest daughter Agnes (Reeb) Fischer. Although, Heinrich was born in 1599, all
