When Nell Norvell published The Rape Family Tree we were not quite certain about Lorenzo Dow Rape just as we still are not certain about him. We do know that he took the Rape name and we do know that his mother was the wife of John Rape, who was son of Peter Rape, the son of Gustavus Rape, son of Johann Peter Reeb the immigrant ancestor.
