1. Re: [GUS-REEB] Sarah McComb Rape? [1]
I didn't mean be Thoma's wife, I meant his wife's maiden name from a sister or brother's child. She has baffled me from day one. Diann I wonder where she fits or the name fits. Diann I have to work on not writing so fast and really say what I mean. 2. RE: [GUS-REEB] apology [1]
Rhonda, there is no need to apologize. This all should never have started in the first place. I guess people say let go.....do not perpetuate this subject. We do Reeb reasearch. Let Myka put her lineage on line and show us where she comes from....and how the gypsies relate to Reeb. It would be interesting. I understand Black Dutch are from the Black Forest and have nothing to do with the color of their skin. Their are so many Slang definitions in America that it would take for ever to enlighten e

4. Re: [GUS-REEB] Sarah Agnes Reph [1]
My understanding of what you are writing is: Sarah Agnes Reph (b. Nov. 1842 per 1900 US Census) was located in Dane Co. at the time she was 17. Would that be the 1920 census? Who was she living with in this census? At what point did the name McComb come into play? Do you have some family records of this name? I do not have the maiden name of Thomas Reph's wife. I have her listed as Catherine Maiden-unknown b. August 29, 1822, Northampton Co., Pennsylvania; died December 29, 1894, buried United Church o

I should have said John does not lurk......my typing is not as good as it should be. Also, John I need some help where Rapes or Rephs were in Canada. This is where my Susanna, Abrahams wife was working with her father. The Kleppinger's were there also. I am going to try to connect through Canada. If you know anything about Canada will you please be kind enough to send that info to me. Thanks Diann dcdr >From: "Diann Charlotte Dillow" >Reply-To: GUS-REEB-L@roots
6. Re: [GUS-REEB] another connection request [1]
Zimmer has died in the past few months and as you may know he was one of my very close friends. It was Zimmer who hosted me for one week during two reunions in NC in the late 1980s. Zim acted as M.C. at three family reunions two in NC and one in TX. Thinking about Zimmer reminds me of one of long ago fellow Oklahomans named Will Rogers who often said "I have never met a man I did not like." In this case, I can say truthfully, I never met a man who would not have liked Zimmer. He was a real good person who
7. Re: [GUS-REEB] Not Receiving Posts to List [1]
I am not certain that there is anyone on this list who was in contact with me back in the late 1970s but if there was then that person could tell you that I wanted to share every thing I learned about our ancestry with all of my cousins close and distant and any number of generations removed. It is a lot more fun to do genealogy when one has contact with and can discuss the family history with others who have access to the same information. The more persons who have access to the data enables us to better e
8. RE: [GUS-REEB] No Dialogue - List will be silent [1]
Diann, Thanks for your advise. To all: I am re-adjusting the settings on both Reeb Lists so that responses to posts to be defaulted to reply only to the person whose post is being replied to. This was the same settings which had been made to the Reeb-Roots list which did result in very little activity as surely all subscribers to that list certainly must be aware. Happy Independance Day to all of you. Thank you to all who have served our country with your service in the United States Armed Forces in an

Hi Rhonda: I know there are probably lots of websites out there that have this, but I just did a quick search and came up with a couple that might help. 11. Re: [GUS-REEB] Thomas Reph 1817 [1]
How very interesting Diann. I do have a daughter of Thomas Reph named Sarah Reph, born 1841. But I have her married to a John Miller. Would this be the same Sarah? I think John V. Reeb could fill us in on Thomas' siblings better than I can. To all list members posting messages for Myka it should be noted that she has been unsubscribed from this list. Possibly the administrator can explain why? Is it because she voiced her opinion? Is it because she was offended by some of the remarks made? From John V. Reeb "I do not wish to give the impression that I expect any of us to feel required to provide documentation for every item we mention on the Gus-Reeb list as I feel that would probably interfere with the dialogue which I think is imp
15. Re: [GUS-REEB] Thomas Reph 1817 [1]
I found her in Dane County she was 17 at that time. I am puzzled. The name McComb always has had me puzzled. Later the McComb disappeared and it was just Sarah. I have to go back through my old papers. Since David and Thomas were related, it certainly would be understandable that Thomas would take one of the children into his family. I have already asked John, but he knew nothing about the name McComb. Where was Sarah married? PA? You don't happen to have Thomas's wife's last name, do you? A

Dear John, Please just be our administrator. Everyone is so busy with the 4th of July, extra yard work, and company, right now... Diann, I understand. I realize that everyone knows that I am a grandfather but maybe they don't all know I do live with my son and his family. I have a ten year old granddaughter who is presently in the last two days of school this term. She is graduating from elementary into middle school and so we are kind of concentrating on her at this time. Also, my son and family are preparing on a vacation in Mexico begining soon after the school term. I have not been in the mood for doing much posting lately an
