1. [GUS-REEB] New List... [1]
As you all know, I am new to this list and have debated on whether to post my opinion on John V. Reeb's idea about a new American/European Reeb ancestor list. I think it sounds like a wonderful idea. I am sure that we would have so much to learn from our European cousins and vice-versa. I understand Werner's concerns about becoming overwhelmed....but I do think we deserve to give this idea a go around and see what happens. If it does become too much for our European cousins, then by all means, someth

I apologize, my paragraphs fell apart. I do not know how that happens, but it is not intentional. I have been working on various names that connect to the Reeb's. It is fascinating how ones family develops. I guess that statement was a little sarcastic, but
3. Re: [GUS-REEB] Thank You! [1]
Welcome Pamela. I am James Rapp, one of your many cousins fro what John Reeb likes to call the "Butler County, PA" clan. I look forward to hearing from you, but I haven't seen any actual text in your posts to this list. Good afternoon Ludovic, Thank you very much for offering to write to Henri Schweikert, I have just forwarded his address on to you. Also thanks for keeping me informed about the packet I sent to you. I hope it will arrive soon. John V. Ludovic ERLENBACH wrote: Bonjour john, c'est avec plaisir que je lis les mails du groupe et je souhaiterais vous aider dans votre recherches d'informations. 5. [GUS-REEB] Spam [1]
Now I have learned if you send a reply on a very old e-mail, you may receive spam on the list. Rootsweb did not have a spam regulated at that time. One man received a very bad e-mail. Rootweb, deleted it for him. So let us be careful. Send a new e-mail, cut and past the previous message you are replying to. I would rather have new e-mails than spam getting on our list. 8. Re: [GUS-REEB] News from Pam [1]
Pam, Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful weekend full of old photos, family history and plenty of talk. Congratulations and thanks for sharing the good news with us. Now I am beginning to wonder if I too may have problems posting since Yahoo Mail has changed the format which evidently they think is cuter and added smiling faces and other tiny useless icons to the mail service. 9. [GUS-REEB] Kudos to John V. Reeb [1]
I wish to echo Ron Miller's kudos for John V. Reeb's thorough and time demanding research. You certainly are worthy of such praise, John. The Keskastel Reebs in the French Civil Registries Ron spoke of are part of my Reeb family. The contact Diann and John have made in John's post below is a descendant of that same family. This is an example of excellent research. Thank you everyone. Some of you have inquired about Jacob, our 4 mo. old grandson. He is currently scheduled to have his surgery in

Thank you Mertz, I have been calling Didier. I apologize. Your English is very good. You have been very generous with your work. This is great to have another Frenchman. I have seen your work on geneanet and I did get on your web site also. You are younger than my son and older than my daughter. My son is 49 his name is Scott and his wife is Adele. My daughter's name is Nicole and she is 33. Nicole is French, yes? So now you may guess my age. Diann Dillow dcdr > From: mertzdi@wanadoo.fr > To:
11. [GUS-REEB] Thank You for the Welcome! [1]
Thank you Gail for the Welcome. I do appreciate that very much. I want you to know that by reading the postings about your Jacob, I too have been sending my best prayers to heaven for him to recover fully. Sounds like the little guy has had a rough way to go. On a lighter note, Happy Anniversary to you and your husband. Forty years is quite an accomplishment in this old world these days. Enjoy your day..... It is so good to hear from Didier....you write very good English and I am so impressed with

Hello my dear cousins I have work a little this week , like I said in my last E-mail I send message for two groups . Four persons give me answers ,they are descendants from GUTH or REEB (or both ). But I don't know how to connect them to our family. One of them know the gus-reeb list . She's in contact with MIKE REEB from Idaho .She's a REEB 's descendant from Zutzendorf . The other just wants me to confirm or not if we are cousins . To give them informations I have to know if there's REEB on the

14. [GUS-REEB] Reeb data in GeneaNet. [1]
GeneaNet contains many Reeb entries from the data of Henri Schweikert in France. I found his e-mail address and wrote to him only to receive a reply that he could not provide an answer for now due to his lack of English. James, Didier or Ludovic, could either of you possibly help me with this? The entries he has do appear to be for Reebs in Alsace-Bossue region. Apparently he does have a very large database and he may be very helpful to us. Thanks John V. John V. Reeb

16. [GUS-REEB] explanation [1]
Hello List members, If you have XP 2000, when you use rich text, it will make the message replies connect to the original message. This makes it harder to read. I only know this because I have done it myself on replies to the list. You are also more apt to have a bounce. Other bounces are caused by the security systems we have on our computer. You may have up to 5 bounces per day, which none of you do. The Mail Demon, I believe is one bounce. I have to reject the Mail Demon. I will try to keep you

It has been wonderful and a real comfort to know many prayers were being said for Jacob. Thanks everyone. Jacob continues to make good progress and will probably be in the hospital until Monday. We continue to be here to help care for Jacob and to be certain his parents are getting their rest & meals. I certainly wish to welcome the new members to this list, also. We all learn much about our heritage and our history on the Gus-Reeb list. My grandfather, George K. Reeb, came to America in 1903. He was

John, In answer to your question .....Rootsweb is having a spam attack and it is delaying many posts. We have been lucky and have had 2 or 3 spams trying to get through. One spam was, which I took care of, came to my attention about the same time Didier's post came in. Many of the lists will have as many as 5 posts holding on there lists. So it may be that some of our people, especially the ones with AOL, are having problems. My post came in a little odd, also. When I am notified of a possible spam, I ca

21. Re: [GUS-REEB] Spam [1]
Diann, these posts about Spams to the list is getting confusing to me and I fear to others. You and I receive the notices from Rootsweb when someone tries to spam and that procedure seems to me to be working okay as both of us saw the porn spam which roots web alerted us to. I do not even bother with them because you advised me before that you see them all and stop them from getting to the list. So I fail to see how one will show on the list when you have already responded to the alert by rootsweb. If an

I too wish to welcome Didier to the list. As I looked into our common relationship to each other, Johann Nicolaus Guth 1620-1685 was my 9th great grandfather migrating down through my Reeb ancestry.
