John,
After our conversation, I checked my info on Margaret Catherine, and the
second marriage would have been impossible. I believe you said it was
supposed to have been in 1845 in IL. Her marriage to Ansley Harrison Sage
was only in 1840, and they were still having children as late as 1861! I do
not have a death date for either Margaret or Ansley, but Ansley's father
died in 1869 and Ansley was named in his will. Thanks for re-igniting\
my interest in checking on things, though. I wish I had more
Hi Lonnie,
Well it does seem as if there is a second Margaret Catherine Rape out there
somewhere, or at least her descendants, if she left any.
I am not certain if I still have a photocopy of the actual courthouse will,
but I do have my own typewritten copy made from the photocopy that I did or
may have hidden someplace. Anyway the will was dated 8 Feb. 1845 and yes it
does read in part: "Eighth, I give and devise to my daughter Margaret Sage
forty five acres the south part of the east half of the south
On page 342, The Rape Family Tree, the family of Charles Wesley Rape is given.

remember at one time Luella Evans Rape and I were wondering what happened to
this Charles Wesley Rape since we had found no furthe

Since it sounds like you don't remember exactly where
the record came from, or what it said, let me provide the
specifics. I did note my source.
I got the record from the Illinois State marriage index.
I found this on microfilm at my local LDS. The entry
reads:
Nicholas Frighstar and Margaret Catherine Rape,
married on 14 Oct 1845 in Sangamon Co., ILL.
As for the inference that this was the same Margaret Catherine
Rape b. 1821 who was the daughter of Peter Rape and Sarah Ann
Funderburk .
Lonnie,
It is interesting that you brought up the marriage which supposedly took place
between Margaret Catherine Rape and Nicholas Freighstar (forgot the spelling,
already) because just a couple of days ago as I was trying to get some of my
old Roots 3 Files re-edited into my new TMG file, I Noticed this marriage. I
had already entered the information from Joyce Elliott and the marriage showed
on my monitor right in the middle of Margaret Catherine Sage's children, so I
knew something was wrong somewher
I was going over notes and records and catching up on some of
my Rape genealogy last night. Anyway, Joyce Elliot had identified
her ancestors as Ansley Sage and Margaret Catherine Rape (dau. of
Peter and Sarah Ann (Funderburk) Rape).
Anyway, I have a record from the Illinois state marriage index for
a Margaret Catherine Rape and Nicholas Frighstar on 14 Oct 1845
in Sangamon Co., Illinois. I looked back and saw that John had
brought this up also.
Has this been resolved at all? It appears to me that ther
