1. Charles Rape [1]
I want to pass this information on to any descendants of Charles Rape, a son of Henry Rape, who was born between 1794 & 1800 in Mecklenburg County, NC. Charles Rape was listed as head of a household in 1820 U. S. Census twice in Mecklenburg County. Once he was listed next to Samuel Mattocks and once he was listed next to Peter and Samuel Rape (his brothers). In 1830, Charles Rape was listed next to Samuel Maddox (this was the same person as Samuel Mattocks above) but at that time they were counted in Anson

3. Yet another name variant for REEB [1]
From Reb, Rebh, Rape, Reap, Reph, to Raph and even Rapp, I thought I knew all the derivatives or changes from the original surname of Johann Michael Reeb, son of Gustavus and Anna Margaretha (Stroh) Reeb, and his descendants. However, in recent days I just learned another one. Baptismal Records of Christ Church (U.C.C.) "Little Moore," of Moore Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania give the birth of Charles Reph, son of Simon & Maria (Anthony) Reph, as 20 March 1843. He was baptized on 27 May 1843. G

Rose, I can well understand the frustration that you are feeling. I am sorry that I was not able to help you more. I really think that the best course of action for you would be to type out a letter leaving the space where you would normally put the name and address of the organization or government agency that you want to send the letter to blank. In other words make it a form letter but do include a good description of exactly what you want. Then get photocopies made and send copies to the Courthouse
6. Re: [GUS-REEB] Sangamon County Probate Index [1]
Rose, I think Dae was just giving the date which is in the data on line. Not sure, but I would imagine that the date is the date of the probate settlement of the estate for the deceased person of the name given. If not then it could have been the date the probate was filed after the settlement. Since this is an index, I think the purpose here is to provide the name and the date to the Probate Court in Springfield, which is the county seat in Sangamon County, Illinois where you would wirte to request a copy

Aileen, you are correct. Frank was listed as Rape in 1900 census and as Raphe in 1910, 1920 & 1930. In 1910, he was in Valley Center Twp, Pawnee County, KS; in 1920, he was in Spearville Twp, Ford County, KS; and in 1930 in Garfield Twp., Finney County, KS with his family. Thank you for the correction. John V. Aileen Norris wrote:Hey there John, I have been trying to follow this latest find. This is wonderful work. 10. RAPHE [1]
I just found that one person, now two, have posted on the RAPHE surname in www.genforum.com . I know that it seems uncanny, but the truth is I had not stumbled into this until a few minutes ago. ATTENTION ALL YOU RAPE & CRAIG RELATIVES!! I have been writting to many of you but we don't seem to be getting anywhere so I got the idea to take my plea to all of you and surely there is someone in our midst that has the answer or is close enough to the HENRY COUNTY COURTHOUSE to go there and get the answer. The following is what I need : 1. The estate of ALEXANDER and MARY McKIBBEN CRAIG was settled and distributed to the heirs either the late part of 1877 or 1878. 2. I need at least
