1. Re: [GenChat-L] Santa brought scanner [1]
Myra, I don't have that particular scanner but have included scanned material (pictures, documents) into my FTM with no problem. While in the scrapbook where you want to place the picture, go to menu "picture/object" and select "insert picture from file" then just follow the prompts. Easy as pie! Bev

4. [GenChat-L] Aunt Charlotte's Book [1]
I agree with Elaine on Aunt Charlotte's Book. What a great thing to read. Last spring I posted, in installments, the memoirs of an ancestor of my father-in-laws, on the Homesteaders list. It is a well written narrative about her life growing up in the late 1800's with some interesting bits about the Civil War. I think it was in 5-6 installments. Some of you may have read it then, but I have it in my word processor and would be willing to share it with GenChat and Fireside if anyone is interested. Let

Okay my friends, Many have asked me to do this so I will. I will put it out on the list, in installments. Some will be longer than others but I prefer to keep the train of thought going than trying to recall what yesterday was about. So I will send the first installment shortly. Jo Hogle
13. [GenChat-L] Unto You A Child Is Born [1]
To My Fireside friends and Fellow Chatters "Unto you a child is born" sang the angels who fluttered about that dark December evening. Did the fear of parenthood mingle wildly within the couple as well as the joy of a creation; I wonder how he looked and how it felt,- what color were the eyes , what hue was the skin? Did his hair crumple and curl itself. And then I thought of her, his mother who had slept with death to tear a man- child from beneath her heart while the world lay unconsciously wander

17. [GenChat-L] The Oyster [1]
Chatters & Tipsters, This is something to consider. And as a genealogy "tip" might well be something to remember during our struggling searches for ancestors & lost records. THE OYSTER There once was an oyster Whose story I tell, Who found that some sand Had got into his shell. It was only a grain, But it gave him great pain. For oysters have feelings Although theyre so plain. Now, did he berate The harsh workings of fate That had brought him To such a deplorable state? Did he curse
