Can anyone help me with the name of this cemetery?
I have a person in my database who supposedly was buried in the "Old
Meriden Cemetery." Can anyone tell me if there is a cemetery with that name,
or if it has a newer name? The man I am looking for, Samuel Royce, was
buried in May of 1757.
Thanks.

Hi Everyone,
I am in no way financially connected with the journal mentioned below
other than as a subscriber. I just think that everyone who is dealing with
New England families should subscribe to The American Genealogist. It is
one of the finest genealogy journals in existence and should be subscribed
to by every person with New England heritage.
Subscription rates $30.00 per year

This collection of the Barbour and Hale Collection is also
on Microfilm at the Family History Centers. You can order
the Microfilm from Salt Lake City and have in your own Family History
Center Library in your area of residency.

Greetings to All!
I'm new to the list and am seeking your help. My
gg-grandfather, Jean Baptiste Besanceney,
b. 22 February, 1811, Frahier, France, died in CT
sometime after 1852 and before 1855.
I found some other Besanceneys in the SSDI for
Litchfield area of CT and thought that might be a good
place to start. But, I'm not sure where in CT that
Jean Baptiste Besanceney did actually die. How can I
find this information in the State of Ct, is it
available somewhere?
Appreciate any tips. Thanks loads
Could someone on the list get a copy for me- the CT Library is a

Hi Richard -- the CT State Library at Hartford has the microfilm for
the
Journal for 1862. They have good copying machines, and copies are 25
cents each.

Connie,
Are you anywhere close to Dallas?
I was just at Dallas Public Library, they have Barbour and Hale Collections
(alphabetical index of early CT vital records) on Microfilm. Excellent
resource. The DPL has lots of Connecticut info.

Hello, Friends.
I have no trouble understanding words like Cavalry, Infantry and Cannoneers,
but for heaven's sake, what is an Artificer? The following is about a
Connecticut ancestor of mine, buried in Bergen, Genesee, NY. (This ancestor
married Susannah Murray of East Guilford on 15 April 1782, and I would love
to hear from other descendants of this couple.)

Col. Jeduthan Baldwin's Connecticut regiment of Artificers."

Hi-was there a census in Conn. in 1857? How about 1855?
Also-was there any type of directory at that time?
I am trying to find out where the following people lived--John
Curley, Johanna O'Neil (they were married in 1857 in Windsor Locks)
Thomas Curley and Mary Ryan....
Does anyone have access to the census, or a directory?
thanks,
Rose

I think you will find that he was the fellow that repaired the small arms.
Up until I retired from the army they were still around in the with the
combined name Armorer/Artificer with a military occupational speciality in
the general supply field.
I have been retired a long time but that is what that rascal is.

It is a courtesy from someone, to the list. Let's give them a big thank you
for sending it. Isn't that nice of them to do that for those of us that have
ancestors from that area? Go there and read it. You might find some of your
people. Never know.

Hello list, Apparently my prior request for information was not worded
properly. I am trying to find out if Connecticut had a State Census the years
between the Federal Census. Time period: 1885 to 1925.
Thank you, Charlie in NY
Hi Listers,
Does anyone know if there is a CT Death index for the years 1900-1949? or
even a county death index? I want to send for a few death certificates but
I'm not sure of the Townships my ancestors died in.
Thanks for the help
