Hi Sheila, It's a long shot but it's been so long since I uncovered any info on my Hackets that I'm replying only because your NYS geography is so close to mine. My grandmother was Ann(e) Hacket(t) from Saugerties NY. She married Bernard Byrne probably in 1889. I have found very little info on that part of the family but am glad to share it with you An interesting note is that I have two letters which I am almost positive were written to her. They were written by her friend Annie Maher. The first

Do you have any idea where Charles went after the war?? My ggrandfather Moses Fitz Hackett b. 1831 (father Davis Hackett) in Strong ME also fought in the Civil War. Sometime after the war he moved to Michigan. In the 1897 Midland CO. (Michigan) Register, he is listed along with Charles and Peter Hackett (all heads of households) on Sec. 2 Porter Township. I'm very curious to know what, if any, relation Charles and Peter were to Moses. ?Cousins? Sally Coanes Santeford Houghton, Michigan At 12:20 AM 4/2
