7. an Apology [0.987675]
Dear list people and Erin, I realized late last night that I had sent what was meant as a private message to Erin to the whole list. I have felt terrible about it all day and want to apologize for my careless behavior. Saying one is sorry does not take back the pain and discomfort caused; and it is an empty gesture unless one changes one's behavoir. So I will certainly think more carefully what I am saying where. Thanks for no flames. I hope you had a good day, Erin, and

I'm sorry, my Hacketts were from England, the W. Midland area, and they settled in the PA area in the 1860's. Good luck in your search, Darlene
9. The Double Booth-Hackett Connection: A Revisit [0.987675]
Hi Hackett Rooters: I'm posting the results of an investigation of the double Hackett-Booth connection, covered in years past on this list. A Hackett "lister" contacted me in April with questions on the Booth side (which I was fully aware of) and introduced me to the Hackett side. That got me curious, and here are the results. I'm posting only the first generation because of the length and size of the full article (about 150KB), about half of which is detailed endnotes. This by no means is the final word

11. Re: [HACKETT-L] Re: Hacketts [0.987675]
I am Bill Hackett in Santa Barbara, California, 805-898-0502. My grandfather, William Bostock Hackett, Sr., was one of I believe eight siblings including a sister, Georgia Hackett McGinnis of Louisville, Kentucky, whom I met when she was an elderly lady in a her Victorian-decor home in Louisville in about 1940. I don't have access to my genealogy file, but my Hacketts came to America from Breedon Lodge at Breedon-on-the-Hill, near Derby in Leicestershire, in the late 1700s or early 1800s and appar
12. Abigail Baker Drake Hackett [0.987675]
Just heard recently that William H. Hackett of Pennsylvania was previously married to Abigail Baker Drake Hackett before he married Mary Magdalene Freete (last name may be misspelled). So I am looking for anyone who may have found information concerning this Abigail. She supposedly had a son John D. Hackett from this marriage who married Mary Meeker from Pennsylvania. M. Jeffers
13. Josiah Hackett's ancestry [0.987675]
Has anyone found any information for a certainty about who Josiah Hackett's parents were? This is the Josiah (b. 15 Jun 1758 in Lyme, CT> d. 4 Jul 1845 in Oxford, NY) who married Mary Booth. They had children (that I know of): Charles, David, Josiah (m. Eunice Haskins), Sally (m. James Haskins), Daniel (m. Abigail Dewey), Polly (m. John Gordon), Eleanor (m. Job Ingraham), Lucretia (m. Isaac Ingraham). It was speculated at one time that Josiah's parents were Joseph Hackett and Ruth Evans, but there was no

16. Re: [HACKETT-L] Josiah Hackett's ancestry [0.987675]
Hi John: Thanks for posting this list of children that you know to be of the marriage of Josiah and Mary (Booth) Hackett, particularly the daughters and their spouses. Do you know if sons, Charles and David died young? Those two do not show up in Oxford censuses with the other sons. Also, have you ever seen a son, Seth, listed anywhere other than in my recent research report on this family? My report suggests that he was a son of Josiah, likely named for his uncle, Seth Booth, brother of Mary Booth. Finall
17. New project idea [0.987675]
Hi all! Inspiration hit me just now! As you know, the new website will be up and running in about a month. In the meantime, I just thought of something that I would love to add to the page, but I need all your help. If you're interested and/or have the time, why not write up your family history. Maybe a personal story you've heard about one of your ancestors (surnames relating to Barringer, Black, Bradford, Coventry, Eller, Hackett, Hupp, or Kern) or just a run down of who your ancestors (of those surn
18. New site for the genealogy depository coming soon [0.987675]
Hello all! I'm sure that by now, everyone on the list (with the exception of the newbies) is familiar with my site, the genealogy depository on Rootsweb (see my signature below). I am now looking into a web host to host this site and have it's own domain seperate from Rootsweb. There will also be a few other pages on the site of mine for my ALHN county pages in NC. Although I like Rootsweb, I've been wanting the site to have it's own domain name and also looking to protect the information on the site si

Hello all! This is just to let you know we have a new website. Please be aware that the site will not be up for at least 2-3 weeks. The new domain/address is: http://www.gendepository.com Only one person made any suggestions, and unfortunately, none of them were available. She also made a good point that the full "www.genealogydepository.com" was lengthy so I shortened it just a little the best I could. Now, once the pages are up and running, I will let everyone know. Cheerful greetings to you all, but this recipient of the general broadcasting urges you to keep your personal message sendings limited to the one person rather than broadcasting to a list. :-) God knows we all get enough spam without other people's messagings! 23. Dog tag website [0.987675]
Hi all! A message, via the the message boards, has been circulating some of these list about the dog tags website of American GIs during Vietnam. First, this site does appear to be legitimate, (www.founddogtags.com), but I wanted to let everyone know that cities in Vietnam are notorious for selling things that supposedly belonged to American GI's. These guys with the website are not selling anything, and I personally like what they are trying to do, but just be warned that most of them, if not all, are p

25. guidelines for submitting your lines for the website [0.987675]
Hi all. Looks like I need to give some guidelines on how to submit information. 1. I can't post copyrighted material unless you hold the copyright or you received permission from the copyright holder (of which I need to get a copy of the written permission for legal purposes). What I suggest if you want to submit information that has been copyrighted, like in a book, is to take what is relevant to the site and put it in your own words and then let me know where the info came from. What I can then do
