Laura, have you checked obituaries for Joseph and John, etc.?
Often they state the place in Ireland. Have you checked the funeral
records and the tombstones? Have you looked at the 1870 census? You are
right that usually it only says Ireland, but every once in a while you get

Just found this tonight at http://www.pcquandary.com/patie/dearmond.htm I
believe this referring to the Revolutionary War, but not sure, never
actually said...also, I only copied what talked about John and that was it.
There was more, including a map of the area talked about so go to the

First off, let me say I don't have these addresses myself, but here is an
excellent homepage for people who want to request vital records
(birth/death/marriage/divorce) but don't know the address. Also, if you
know the town, but not the county, there is a link for that, just enter the
name of the town and state it's in and it will tell you the county (I tried
it, it REALLY works!). Hopes this helps out.

at least 4 people in just the past 12 hours connect! This is going much
better than I ever hoped. Thank you everyone for that by the way, I'm very
grateful and excited about this and I think I will keep it up. T

Hi,
I'm researching Hacketts, primarily in County Tipperary, Ireland.
Particularly, John Hackett listed in Griffith's valuations for Tipperary
(1851) in Curragraighue, Borrisoleigh, Tipperary. He was enumerated along
with a Philip (father? brother?)
His wife's name was Margaret (maiden name unknown).
He had daughters Annie, b 1864, Mary Agnes b. 1866 (my great-grandmother)
and possibly a daughter Bridget (I'm still working on that connection).
Mary Agnes Hackett married Richard Delahunty in the R.C. ch
Does anyone know of Hacketts in the Pennfield/Battle Creek, Michigan area?
A George Hackett living in Pennfield during the latter 1800's is supposedly
a first cousin of my Great-Grandfather Dwight Adam VanValkenburg, but I
have never been able to find a link between them.
thanks,
