6. John Hackett [1]
Just found this tonight at http://www.pcquandary.com/patie/dearmond.htm I believe this referring to the Revolutionary War, but not sure, never actually said...also, I only copied what talked about John and that was it. There was more, including a map of the area talked about so go to the homepage if you want to see the rest: From: Roots of Roane County, TN by Snyder E. Okay everyone, new word: Kentucky, so start listing your KY ancestors. Reminders: After last week, I have found people do not know where to send mail and such so here are reminders 1. do NOT send messages to me that are meant for the list, send them to BLACK-L@rootsweb.com, BRADFORD-L@rootsweb.com, or HACKETT-L@rootsweb.com 2. do NOT assume that just because you send it to the Black list for example that people will know that "George Benson" is actually "George Benson Black" (picking these names out o

Rather than asking for submissions by forename, how about by locality? Like a certain county in a certain state? Or even just that state? Or a part of England or Ireland? To me that would bring together related people a lot quicker than the name John would. I am sure I could find a John in the Burke's Landed Gentry of Ireland book where there is a line of Hacketts, but what would that add--to type stuff out of a book that anyone can get access to? 11. vital record addresses for every state/county [1]
First off, let me say I don't have these addresses myself, but here is an excellent homepage for people who want to request vital records (birth/death/marriage/divorce) but don't know the address. Also, if you know the town, but not the county, there is a link for that, just enter the name of the town and state it's in and it will tell you the county (I tried it, it REALLY works!). Hopes this helps out. http://www.inlink.com/~nomi/vitalrec/index.html Erin Bradford kshai@geocities.com Listowner for Barri

Hi, I'm researching Hacketts, primarily in County Tipperary, Ireland. Particularly, John Hackett listed in Griffith's valuations for Tipperary (1851) in Curragraighue, Borrisoleigh, Tipperary. He had daughters Annie, b 1864, Mary Agnes b. 1866 (my great-grandmother) and possibly a daughter Bridget (I'm still working on that connection).
