3. [HACKETT-L] HACKETT, David; 1848 - 1858; Smethwick, Staffordshire, England [1]
I am new to the list. I am interested in the family of David Hackett born about 1825, and married to Easter or Esther Haydon (nee Brown), Birmingham, 1848. They had two children, James William Henry born 1849 and Mary Ann born and died 1851. I know that David was in New Zealand in 1858, and Esther had a son, Thomas Alfred Hackett born New Zealand in 1860. Thomas is my husband's grandfather. Anyone knowing anything of this family please contact me. Regards Thelma Hoskins.

Hello lists. First off, let me welcome all the new subscribers of my lists (50 total just this past week! 9. [HACKETT-L] HAKCETT, William [1]
I am trying to find information about William Hackett who I believe was born in Burbage in 1816. This information is from his grave marker in Forreston, Illinois. He emigrated to the US but I am not sure when or what port. Someone helped me find a William Hackett in the Burbage 1851 and 1841 census. This William was 13 in 1841 and 23 in 1851. So he would have been born in 1828. But I do not know if he was still there in the next census which would help me eliminate him from my search. I t

>Historical Register and Dictionary of the United States Army >H. >page 485 >Hackett, John W. Md. Capt 9 infantry 3 Mar 1799; honorable discharged 15 June >1800. It is possible that this is my John Hackett who married Elizabether Murphy in Jessamine Co., KY. I'm not really sure about that though. I have been told that it was his dad, Peter, that was actually in the military, but the same person who told me that has been off by a generation many times in the past. John was supposedly born in either
