Kellie (and all),
I have a Hackett family from Newburgh, NY which I can't seem to
connect to any of the other many Hackett clans in the states or in
Ireland. Here's what I have on my 2nd Great Grandfather:
"Bernard Hackett (about 1835 - 1895) was an Irish immigrant who
settled in upstate NY around the time of Ireland's Potato Famine
(1845-1851). It is not known if he came to New York with parents or
siblings. He and his wife, Mary Ann Tompkins, lived in the
Poughkeepsie, NY area and also in Newburgh

Hi Sandy,
I have one John Hackett born Nov 19, 1799 probably Botetourt Co., VA (son
of Jeremiah Hackett and Jane Kirkpatrick). I also have a John HACKETT (son

I haven't documented any of this data.

Hi all, I thought some of you might find the following web site
interesting in your search. My husband isn't very interested in
genealogy, but I'm glad he told me about this one. The site has
compilied census data for a few of the years and has a map showing the
distribution of suranmes.
Have a good day,

Thanks for the info Sandy. I thought that you and I had communicated previously
on our Hackett line? I've been searching my line for 30+ years. Jeremiah
HACKETT Sr was the next born after John to Thomas and Rebecca. I've more
or less been stuck at that point and not able to go back any further.
If you'd like I can send you what I have to date?

Hi Jerry,
I would really appreciate anything you have on this line and I will certainly
let you know if I do find anything. Your lucky to be able to trace your
line back to Thomas and Rebecca. No, I guess we are never happy to be stuck.
I will look through my files to see if I may have kept something on Jeremiah,
I know I've seen the name in the area. If yo

My grandfather was George Hackett, b.1860, Stockton, IL. His father was

I am putting this information on the mailing list -- perhaps someone on

Dear Howard,
I noticed that you have some Hacketts in your genealogy research. I
have an
ancestor named Hannah Hackett born probably in the 1760's and died May
15,
1845. She was married to John Conrad of Washington Co.
