Everyone, this virus warning is a hoax! If you want to delete it to
be safe, be my guest, but it'd be a good idea to save the file on a
floppy disk because it's a file that your computer uses (my roommate
is getting her PhD in Computer science and checked on this for me).

sent to this list. IT IS A HOAX, you can curse me out for saying
that, like some have done, but it's the truth.
Here is an address (just copy and paste) to 1 (of the many) websites

Does anyone have a Margaret Hackett on your family tree? She would have
been born between 1920-1922 in Duluth , Minnesota, or 1922-1938 in Toledo,
Ohio. I also know she died before 1958. Her parents were John Edward Hackett
and Sarah Agnus Hayes. Any help would be appreciated.
Hello all,
I was just wondering if anyone else has found any of their Hacketts in
New Haven, Connecticut. My family is from Ireland, most likely Kildare,
and they all ended up settling in New Haven. If anyone has any
connection to us please let me know.

My sister faxed me this alert that was sent to all the computers at the
Credit Union she works at. I am grateful because I found it on both my
computers in the Windows folder.
Therefore I am sending it to all that I can reach to warn them. It is copied
exactly as the memo was circulated to the Credit Union employees, without of
course the Systems Managers email address and extension number copied. I
only typed up the main body of the memo.

There is no way to be polite about the idiocy (well intended) involved in spreading
hoax virus messages like the one I just received. In this case if you follow the
instructions, you will delete a Microsoft utility file! No virus is involved but
you will do the damage yourself if you follow the instructions. I repeat - DO NOT

I am researching Hackett from County Waterford to Brooklyn, NY. Beginning
in the 1850's through the early 1900's. I have quite a bit of info, but
I'd like to find out more. Jeremiah Hackett was married to Annie Logan.
They lived in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. He was a contactor
and they lived on Hart Street. Throughout
No problem. I did delete it, like you, I figured it legit. I guess we
newbys learned a lesson on this one. You did just what I did, and
fortunately one of my cousins got back to me right away and I resent
messages to all of the ones I forwarded to and only 1 was as quick to
move as I was. No real harm done. Have a good day, and Happy hunting.

- I apologise for sending the above to the list but as it was from the
Computer Systems Manager of the Credit Union to the employees, I thought he
would surely know what he was talking about. Makes you worry about who is
taking care of your money doesn't it?
