Looking for any information on Robert Hackett, b. ca 1782 Richmond Co., VA died 12/8/1832 Anderson Co., SC. Also looking for any information on his son, Albert Hackett, b. ca 1809 SC. Hackett, This surname derives from the personal name Haket and was brought to Ireland at the end of the 12th Century by Anglo-Norman settlers who established themselves in Leinster, where their name is commemorated in the townlands of Hacketstown and Ballyhacket Lower and Upper in Rathvilly barony, Co.
