Hello Hackett-listers
I have a Hackett ancestor that I haven't been able to find parents
etc. for and hope someone on this list may know of her. She is a
Sarah HACKETT who married John NEWBOLD (1828-1885) in Leicestershire,
England. Sarah probably died in Leicestershire as John NEWBOLD married
a Susannah WISE (maiden/previous married name?) and had 2 further
children.
Children (born in Leicestershire to Sarah & John)I am aware of are:
Martha NEWBOLD (bc 1847) m. Jonathon HEAPE 30 Jan 1869 in Leiceste

Anyone out there researching Hacketts from Milltown, Ireland (suburb of Dublin) from the 1870's to early 1900's?
My great-grandfather was Charles Hackett, born in Milltown in the 1880's. I've obtained his birth information, as well as birth info for his siblings, from the Irish Birth Registers, but I would just like to find out what happened to his brothers and sisters. I would also like to obtain more information on his parents.
Let me know if this sounds familiar to anyone!

Again, I'm going to take issue with some of the info in this email. This not an
attempt to "flame" anyone; it's just an attempt to make sure we have our data
correct. I welcome any input from others on this. My comments will be entered

While reading this email, I noticed what appear to be several mistakes. I'd
appreciate any other input on this.
I am listing my corrections, etc. in the text of the email as posted by Julie
Sharp below. I want everyone to
understand that I am not "flaming" anyone; I just want our Hackett data to be
correct.

I am researching my mother's family and have some reasonably good information
back to Tillman Hackett.
Tillman was born to Luke Hackett and Nancy Darby in Maryland about 1795.
He married Catherine Rebecca Walker before 1814 in Pulaski County, IN.
Tillman served in the War of 1812, but I don't have much information on
that.

Karen,
When I first read your message I didn't think there could be a connection
since my Hackett family comes from Maryland and seems to have gotten there
before the people you are looking for in Maine.
But I was surprised to note on the Darby/Doremus query I did that you also
have a Darby in your line.

I was wondering if any of your Hacketts may have lived in Upper Michigan

Palmer. Lucille died in 1931 and her mother died in about 1940. They both
are buried in Marquette and I have a photo of the headstone,

Kim,
It's certainly possible, but I don't have any information about relatives
in Michigan. I really don't have much information about Jonas's siblings:
Luke, Catherine; Thomas and Andrew. Just that they seemed to mostly get
married in Pulaski County IN.
