Hi all! This is just a reminder about an email I sent earlier about the new
chat rooms that are online for anyone to come to (and not just AOL anymore!).
Particularly, I'm sending an email about the different southern chats we have.
There is a general Southern US genealogy chat that covers VA, NC, SC, GA, FL,
AL, TN, KY, MS, etc. (basically any state from VA on down). These chats occur
a couple of times throughout the week. One is held on Monday afternoons from
2-3pm EST (1-2 CST, 12-1 MST, 11-12 PST)
Erin,
What wonderful news! God bless and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Joyce,
James Hackett Jr., C. Hackett, and Lloyd Hackett are also in the 1840
census. See Erin's web page
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~kshai/1810KYhackett.html
The ages of males and females in each household of the 1840 Franklin Co., KY
census match the ones in the 1850 Census.
These three being so close in area and age must be connected but how we will
ever prove it I don't know. Unless we can find some wills or land records.
Alas I am no longer in good enough health to make the trip to Frankfort KY

Hi, Ramona,
Sorry to be so long getting back to you. I've had a lot on my plate the last
2 weeks. Also, it took me a while to dig out my old information on the
"other" HACKETT's --- Cornelius, Lloyd, et. al.
I'll answer your last question first. I've always thought, as you do, that
the Elizabeth HACKETT who m. Moses CLINTON in 1797 was, indeed, the sister of
James HACKETT who m. Margaret COOK MASTIN in Shelby Co., in the same year. I
don't have any real proof, but it seems logical. I have no idea
Hi, All.
Has anyone taken over the list yet? I volunteered, and received a note from
Erin to check and see if someone else has already taken care of it. If not,
I'll do it.
If someone else has already taken the reigns, please let me know right away,
and if you need any help, I'll be glad to help in any way that I can. I "own"
4 other lists, and have been doing this for quite some time.

Joyce,
I don't know who the father of Lloyd Hackett [b. 1803] is, but any Hacketts
in Franklin Co., KY in 1797 would have probably been connected in some way
because it was a very rural area and there were just not that many people
there. The marriage date for James Hackett [1797] would certainly make a
good match for the three Hacketts in the 1950 Franklin Co., KY censuses I
posted, to be his children. I cannot source any connection between Jessie
C. [b. 1800], Lloyd [b. 1803], and Cornelius [b. 1813] ot
Hello,
I am looking for some help in locating the Hackett family of my great-grandfather, Michael O'Meara Hackett, born Cashel, Ireland on 13th June 1852.
He had a relative, Michael O'Meara, who emigrated and in 1891 was living in Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia.
Anybody have any connection?
Richard.

I have accumulated some data on Hacketts in Georgia
since I live there and was interested in the surname.
I had noted the marriage of Whitaker and Ellen as
Feb 6, 1859, in Franklyn Co.
Is your info from a CW pension file and/or?
What censuses have you checked? Where did Whitaker
say his father was born in each census?
My very unorganized searches identified two major
Hackett families in Franklin Co early in the 19th c., those of
Robert and Druscilla Hackett and those of
I am posting three census records to the list. Does anyone out there know if there is a connection like could they be siblings as the dates are close enough.

Hello, Erin.
It appears our prayers have been answered, and that you are making a
remarkable recovery. I think you are a mighty brave person to undergo brain surgery.
Don't worry about the list. It will be here whenever you are ready to take
the helm again. Everyone has been very helpful and cooperative. And a few of
us have actually made connections in the past few days.
Get well soon,
Joyce
