Good Evening,
Thanks so much for responding.
Samuel and Isabel were married on 24 Sept. 1835 in Coles Co., Ill.
Apparently Isabel had been married before and had 1 daughter Jane. I just
talked to someone last night who said that Isabel had been married to
Samuel's older brother. He died and she then married Samuel. Based on
census records indicating their children's birth states they apparently lived
in Ill - Coles, Shelby, and Moultrie cos until abt 1847/1848. At that time
they moved to Denton Co., Te
Good Evening Everyone,
I need help locating information on an Isabel Hanks who married Samuel Clark.
Isabel was born abt 1806 -- at least according to census records. I am not

of birth. It is possible that Isabel was the mother of a child named Jane
before she married Samuel. Again, from family "lore" it is possible that
Jane was illegitimate. In census records Isabel indicates that she was born
in Kentucky.

The Honora rings a bell. I think you might be in the line of Nancy Hanks that
ties back to Gloucestershire, England.

Where did Samuel and Isabel HANKS Clark live?
I have a Polly STEWART (1/2 sister to William BARKER and other Barker
brothers and sisters who migrated from KY to Knox/Gibson Co, IN ca 1810).
Before leaving KY, Polly STEWART married William HANKS, a Primitive Baptist

IN. Polly and William HANKS "moved to Illinois [from Gibson Co, IN] about
1841 and settled on the Little Wabash where they were in 1846." [this
