My Harp ancestors were living in the Sumter County area of Georgia in the
1800s. James Harp was married to Olive; their son Henry (born in 1828) was
married to Lydia Tomberlin; their son James Harp was married to 1. Doresia
Bass and 2. Roxie Jones; their son James Clyde Harp married to Jeannie Lee.

I am looking for a Mira Harp who came from Robeson County, North
Carolina and married unknown Horne.I would like to know what his first
name is?Mira married this Horne in the middle 1800,s.They had the
following children that I know of. Henry, Elias, Joseph, and Irene
Horne.
I am trying to verify some information that was given me. We have
researched our line back to Thomas Marion Harp, father of James Samson Harp.
We were told that Thomas' father is Joshua Joseph but the only Joshua
Joseph we have found does not have a son names Thomas Marion. This would be
along the Maryland-Virginia border around 1700. Any help you can give
would be appreciated.
Thanks, Ruth

Hello everybody,
Please allow me to introduce myself. I am a brand new subscriber to this
list. I am M. Dean Hunt (the M. is for Melvin, and I still have not forgiven
my mother for that) of Louisville, KY.
I am seeking information on the siblings and parents of Joel HARP, born about
1788 in North Carolina according to his statements on the 1850 Census. In
1788 the area of North Carolina may have been present day Tennessee. His
date of death is not known by me. He married Elizabeth (thought to be

Quite a few books have said that the Harp Bros came
from NC but I can only name one source as naming an
actual county. " Legends of the War of Independence
and early settlements in the west" By: T. Marshall

Minniesoda, That story about the Harp brothers really sounds interesting. I

Because of it's size and the time it will take me to
type it out for you all, I'll send this a little at a
time. Please keep in mind that I do not have the
entire book, only photo copies of portions of it.
Some pages get skipped all together and I'll note that
as we go. I am also typing this word for word, with
exact spelling as shown in my copies... (my poor spell
checker)

the daughter of ------- Graham, a farmer of great

I'll get to typing then. :p

I don't have any thing on a Rushie Harp but I have run
into data on a Grover Harp. I only wish I could
remember where I found stuff on Grover, it was a
treasure trove of Harp data that included photos and
Grover was one of them, I'm almost sure of it.
