It is very possible we are related. My great-great-grandfather was James Hodges (In later years he often left the 's' off). He stated in the 1850 Dooly County, GA Census that he was born in North Carolina. In 1850, he was 51-years old and living with a 26-year old wife and children by Nancy. Apparently his first wife died, at least that's the story that I got from one of my great-uncles in the 1950s. I believe Nancy (White) was born around Spartanburg. All of James and Nancy's children were born in SC.
