Hi Gerry,
Remember what I said was the definition of an expert. [a has-been drip
under pressure]
I have quite a bit on the Tauton Hodges but I've never seen proof that any
of them ever lived in Virginia, although others have claimed it. It may
be true but I don't vouch for it.
An early reference says that the first record of a Hodges in America
appears in the records of Tauton Mass in 1643. This reference was to
Captain William Hodges and his wife Mary Andrews, who was a shipmaster born
in England.
Thank you, Frannie.
God bless you and your family,
Betty Hodge Green Polombo

Lynda - I feel certain that Ken will respond to this message as he is the
expert
on all Welcome/Welcom Hodges lines. If not his direct address is
khodge@gdi.net.
I am interested in where these people were, particularly Henry Hodges
and Esther Gallop as I believe that my "Hackley" line may be the Gallop
connection.
Also, was David Hodges Sr. living in Mississippi or where?
Thanks,
