My dad was the Watkins peddler man for a while. I'm told he had a wagon that was stocked with their supplies. One time, I was told some of the bottles in a shipment was broken, and he filed a claim. They went to court, but Dad lost the suit and had to replace the shipment on his own.
As for the jars used in canning. My MIL was the thriftiest person I ever saw, especially when I first got into the family. She saved every kind of jar she had, as long as it would take a lid and seal. She saved mayonnaise
Thank you. This is very beautiful and true for most of us who have ever had a dog as a best friend!

I have heard of them. Some wonder who would buy them. I suppose someone
would buy them so as not to worry about those one cent stamps when the next
increase occurs. The increases seem to come so close together. This is
probably an answer to those who complain about the increases. I work for a
small non profit, so I buy 100 stamps at a time. I could buy two rolls of
stamps to save money, but I don't think we'd save a lot. If we buy too
many, there's always a chance they could get lost.

Dear Emma, Lyman, Pauline and Shirley,
It's been fun to learn of your connections to Montana. We live about 20 miles from Stevensville - it is one of Montana's oldest towns and has a beautiful old mission church. We are not far from the Idaho border so Billings is about 400 miles away. Big Timber is not as far and Helena is about 150 miles away. The Montana winters aren't as bad as they used to be 40 years ago when we lived in eastern Montana and it was below zero for 6 weeks. The mountain valleys are

with my mom with my mother he wanted Jeanne Marie she wanted Doris

Yes, it wouldn't make sense NOT to buy them since the cost is the same as
any others you would buy. The only difference is that you can use them no
matter the cost of a stamp in the future without having to add any to make
up the difference in cost. I think it's a great idea!
I forgot to mention, they don't cost any extra. So if you get 100 of those
at the end of the next raised rate "cycle", you won't need any 1 cent or 2
cent stamps. You just keep using the same ones that you paid less for.
Welcome Susan.

Hi, I just have to add my two cents worth to this conversation as I've had similar experiences. In a small North Missouri hospital, where I worked, it was the founder of the hospital, who often visited at night. The records and record offices were all in the basement, but the hospital itself was on ground level. At the time we had an ICU unit, which would hold only about four or five patients and the door to the unit opened to hall and the elevator doors were just across the hall, so they were visible f

Hi Emma,
I saw the boxes of chicken broth (liquid) on the cooking channel - Rachel
Ray uses them. Should be right near the canned chicken broth. Like I say,
about a quart of this.
It is a rich soup. A chowder. Probably wouldn't be great for diabetics
Hi Alaine...I had 5 children and we had a two acre yard...plus the woods
and creeks to swim in all around..We would be covered with "red-bugs"
Just get in tub as soon as possible with clorox in water...and
LATHER...they come off...Don't wait for one to get immbedded, We never
had a problem.Just scrub 'em off. Stella

A scientist using the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) has
found a way to forecast solar radiation storms. The new method offers as
much as one hour advance warning, giving astronauts time to seek shelter
and ground controllers time to safeguard their satellites when a storm
is approaching.

No, I don't remember the Jewel Tea Man. I wasn't born when my dad worked for Watkins, either. I came along afterward, and evidently we had moved to Calif by the time I was old enough to remember some of these things.
