Linda, The William with Obediah is most likely his (Obediah's) son, William Hooper. Even though we have all heard family stories, there is NO proven connection (related) between William Hooper, Signer of the Declaration of Independence, and Obediah Hooper SR, born 1720. Obediah had a son named William and I feel pretty confident that it was him because he would have been of age to purchase property in 1785. James Hooper and John Hooper were also Obediah's sons. We have been unable to find a link to William the signer. 15. [HOOPER] Hooper / White Family Connection [1]
Hello All, All this talk of Obadiah Hooper lately has spurred my memory about an interesting little scrap of paper I once found. I am a descendant of William White, husband of Mary Hooper (daughter of Obadiah Hooper). William and Mary had a son named William, who also married a Hooper: Nancy (daughter of Richard B. Hooper). This is the line that I am descended from. As I'm sure many of you know, the Whites and some of the Hoopers moved south from Virginia into Pendleton District, SC, and eventually in

Ann, Verdaine and listers: I was just reading thru my files when I noticed something that might be able to tie together some of the KY Hoopers. Ann sent an emIl re the Hoopers in Pontotoc MS in 1850 and 1860 that mentions that Francis Foster Hooper Hooper born about 1812 married in Marengo Co AL in 1843. He later went to TX. 2 census records list his birthplace as KY. As of yet he is unconnected to his birth family. This may fit him in as the son of Ennis Hooper of Caldwell Co KY born in 1788 in NC (said

There was a John that got a land grant in 1675, then 1760's in Craven County, George, Thomas, Abraham, Ephrain, Michael Hoopers all got land grants. There is one record that mentions Thomas and Thomas Jr.along with James Hooper. So she was probaly wife of Jr. or Sr. of Craven Co. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Deanna Baumgardner" To: "Hooper L@rootsweb" ; "@contesting Hooper" Sent: Saturday, January 12, 2008 7:21 AM Subject

Jeff, Thank you for sharing this wonderful information. Sorry, but I do not have any insight on the scrap of court document you found. I do find it interesting that the Carter name is also in your White family, as it was in the Hooper line. Do you have the Bible mentioned? Or, do you have the information the Bible contains? I am related to the Obediah Hooper SR family, through James Hooper, born 1776. This has been proved through my father's DNA, and the Hooper DNA testing. Problem is,
