Greetings,
I was wondering if any listers have a copy of The Huguenots of Ireland and
would do a look-up of a note for me. Will give more details if anyone can
help.
Many thanks, Pam Abikhair
Do you see a COURSEY?

Hello Listers,
I am sorry, I have made an error with the title, (I should be more careful).
It is "The Huguenots And Ireland" by C.E.J. Caldicott, H. Gough & J.P.
Pittion pub. 1987.
Sorry to waste your time.
Regards, Pam Abikhair
Can you check for the name COURSEY?

Hi guys
To be honest, I don't know.
But for those in our little Huguenot communities that do, I'm taking the opportunity to wish you all
the compliments of the Christmas season and for those for whom the 1st January is a new year, best
wishes for a healthy and prosperous new year, good luck with the research and stay with us, the
Huguenot/Wallon sites on Rootsweb are great.
And for those for whom the forthcoming few days is not so significant or who (like me) are
unbelievers or don't care for the season,

Is anyone researching the LISSANT family believed to have emigrated from
France to SW England in the 1600s?

Hi Pam,
I've checked in the following books for your names: Scattered to all the
Winds (1685-1720) by Eugen Bellon); The Huguenots in America by Jon Butler;
The Trail of the Huguenots in Europe, the United States, South Africa, and
Canada by G. Elmore Reaman; Irelands Debt to the Huguenots by S.J. Knox.
I found no reference to the name LAULHE in either book. The reference to
CASTRES indicated it was a town or region. It reads "Denis Dyet, hosier from
Castres in the Albigeois.
Sorry I couldn't help more,
Can a lookup be done on the names Aunger, Aungier, Angier, Ainger, Anger,
Angers,d'Anger etc for Ireland. Certain huguenots of this name were supposed
to have gone to Dublin and elsewhere.
Tom Angers
In 'The Trail of the Huguenots' the name Leferge (Lefurgey) is mentioned but
not in detail. Quote from book says "Esther Clarke Wright, who has given
these Loyalists careful study, states there are about eighty Huguenot
families that came from New Rochelle and Staten Island Huguenot settlements.
Most of those settled in Queens County." In the list of eighty is the family
name Leferge and in brackets Lefurgey.

Hello Kathleen
Would you be kind enough to look up my main Huguenot names in Ireland in the
book you have by S.J. Knox? They are DE LA HAYE ( sometimes Dulahay)
CLEMENTS, and NELIS (or Nelles).
Barbara Holt in New Zealand.
I have Grace Lee's and also Samuel Smiles' books on Huguenots in Ireland.

I have the book "The Huguenot Settlements in Ireland" by Grace Lawless Lee
and there are two mentions of the name Laulie (Laullie), but no mention of
Laulhie.
One mention of the name Laulie indicates that it can be found in the
historial records of Cork. The other is a little more definite:
"Jacob Laulie, to whom Moses Allenet had been apprenticed, was made a freeman
in 1718. Peter, his eldest son, was a churchwarden of Christ Church in 1748
and one of the Market Jurymen in 1755. The effort
Hello Mary,
Would you be able to look up the name of "RICHENET", or possibly spelled
RICHNEY or even RICHNEY for me in your book. I know of one ancestor with
that name who was in Armagh in 1826, but can't find anything else. Thanks so
much. Elayne
