Hi Kathy, According to my Iowa Marriage CD, Isaiah Miles married Celia C. GENTLE on October 22, 1865 in Polk County. Hope this helps you a little. Hi Sus and List, I'm looking for some information on Henry YOUNG and / or William YOUNG. I don't know if this is one person or two.. I find the name both ways in the census and with the same family members, very confusing!! I know that he served in the Civil War and that he was born in PA. and lived in Story Co., Iowa and had a number of children there. Kathy, I checked the 10th Iowa Infantry roster and found the following on Isaiah Miles of Company G: Miles, Josiah or Isaiah. Age 19. Residence Sandyville [Warren Co.], nativity Ohio. Enlisted March 10, 1862. Mustered March 10, 1862. Discharged Sept. 17, 1862, Jacinto, Miss. I found two other soldiers named Miles who also had served in Co. G, 10th Iowa Infantry: Miles, Henry A. Age 18. Residence Indianola [Warren Co.], nativity Indiana. Enlisted Sept. 1, 1862. Mustered Sept. 1, 1862. Mustered out

There was a stir in the old town yesterday, the occasion being the 26th annual reunion of the veterans of Butler county. The day was perfect but it is thought perhaps the heavy rain the night before kept some from a distance from coming. I checked the Iowa rosters and found Charles Toney and both Overockers serving in Co. F, 12th Iowa Volunteer Infantry: Company F, 12th Iowa Infantry: Charles B. Toney, born in Iowa, was 20 years old when he enlisted Sept. 24, 1861, mustering Oct. 26, 1861. His residence was listed as Manchester [Delaware County].
