Hello all, I'm new to this list. Looking for surname McGourty. While
looking through census index for Iowa found a James McGourty in Allamakee in
1870 I think. He later appears in Howard County. This family is connected to
my Patrick McGourty who is connected to the Ronans. Does anyone have any
knowledge of the surnames McGourty and Ronan in Allamakee? Thank you, Margaret
Merrill in Idaho
My maiden name was Odegard. Do you know your family tree?

Hi List,
I am researching the family of JULIA OLSON who came with her parents from
Norway in 1845-47 to Lansing at the age of 2-4 years of age. Her brother
ROBERT OLSON was still living in Lansing in 1914. I am trying to find out the
names of her parents and where they came from in Norway. She married abt 1862
SWAN JOHNSON who came to America at the age of 16 in 1859. It is unknown
whether he came with any family. I am also looking for his parents' names and
where they came from in Norway. In 1874 they mov

Also, is it possible for someone who lives near the court house to check for
naturalization records for a Patrick McGourty in 1876 or 77? The 1920 census
shows Patrick came to the US in 1872 and was naturalized in 1876 but I
understand there is a 5 year waiting period so it may be 1877. His
naturalization records were not in Luzerne where he was earlier. He may have
stayed with or near a James McGourty located in Waukon during the mi
