Hello all,
I received this from a cousin and wanted to share it with all of you.
Happy New Year

The "Census Taker"
It was the first day of census, and all through the land;
The pollster was ready ...... A black book in hand.
He mounted his horse for a long dusty ride;
His book and some quills were tucked close by his side.
A long winding ride down a road barely there;
Toward the smell of fresh bread wafting up through the air.
The woman was tired, with lines on her f
I guess we all have sweet memories of Gayle Gardner. In my case she noticed
that I loved Walt Mason's poetry. At that time Nancee had found some of his
poems and put them on the list. Well, Gayle got in touch with me and made
available a whole book of his work. He was a Kansas poet and covered a
variety of subjects. She was pleased to help me and, of course, I was delighted.
My prayers go out to the family and to the couple themselves. ... jack
Nancee,
Thank you. I have corresponded with Gayle regarding the Riddles-Beavers
Genealogy as my husband shares those early ancestors. I would not have known
if you had not shared this sad news.

Although it says Iowa will be added in 2005, I also did a search for my
families and nothing came up. I'll try to see if there is someone to
contact to find out "if and when" they are adding Iowa.

This is the last list of email addresses that aren't working on the Surnames
Lists. If your name is on this list please contact me. I will send the
complete list of names soon.
Also, please take note of whether you have emails to your email account

where an email address will not accept emails. The whole point of having your
email address listed on the Surnames List is so that you can receive emails

This will be the last list of email addresses that are bouncing from the

but unfortunately wasn't able to find anyone that way this time. Hopefully
they will contact me at a later date and give me a new email address and we
can put them back on the lists. Some of

Stacey,
Thank you for the George P. Campbell bio. His sister Nancie Marie married
Robert Harrison Johnson. Their daughter Mary Isabel married Grant Dorsey and
they are my husband's grandparents.
Campbell branches have been confusing to me. I see the name here on the list
and wonder, "Is this a relative?". This will help a lot. Thank you.

I just received this very sad note tonight and thought those of you who have
corresponded with Gayle in the past, would want to know. Her e-mail address
was Gayle1@wheatstate.com I've included a note I received from her in
December.
Hi Nancee!
I hope this finds you doing well. Some time back I wrote and introduced you
to my cousin, Beth who is Homer Inman's granddaughter. The last I spoke with
her she hadn't contacted you. Do you need information from her? If so, let
me know what you would like

I enjoyed the resolutions. In my own case (scott) I never would have tracked the family back
(William begat John begat William begat John and etc) if it hadn't been for a rebellious
individual who named one of the scotts "Jeduthen." Now Jeduthen wasn't in a direct line
but he was the older brother of one of the Williams. With that hook I moved back another
five generations. Let's hear it for imaginative naming ... jack
I was so sorry to learn of this sad news. I enjoyed all the e-mails from
Gayle, we have lost a good member from our list. my prayers go out to their
family.

Even my son's generation (he's 31 tomorrow) missed out on a lot of great
things, drive-in movies (went when he was young, A&W drive-ins (went when he
was very small), playing outside & making up games (yes, it's the computer
game age), playing board games with the "old" folks (that just didn't seem
to appeal to his generation). There were too many things out there. I feel
sad that he didn't have the same childhood we had. I cherish all the
memories!
