I published a book about my Weischedel ancestors in 1997. My Weischedel
ancestor arrived from Germany in 1854, was married in Dubuque Co IA in 1856
and by 1857 they were in Clayton Co IA.
I think both Dubuque Co and Clayton Co need the book in their libraries. I

Dear Friends,
James was 19 on the 1880 US census in Michigan. A family letter states he came back from Iowa for his brother's funeral sometime in the early part of this century.
What should I do to look for him?
Best regards,
Dennis Lyon
I would like to post the following query about a book I published. My
ancestors married in Dubuque Co, IA and then lived in Sperry Twp, Clayton
Co, IA and descendants are still in that area. See details under
Description below. I would like to correspond with anyone with knowledge of
these names; however, only the Weischedel and Bettschnitt ancestors came to
USA.
Title of Book: Weischedel and Related Families From Feuerbach, Wurttemberg,
Germany, 1550 to 1997; a Genealogy.
Author: Zelda Zeuge Dubel.

I am looking for information about Nicholas J STEICHEN. Nicholas is
believed to have lived out his adult life in Dubuque, Iowa. Here is what I
know: Nicholas was born about 1869 in Rockville Township, Stearns County,
Minnesota to Johannes and Angelina (ROLLER) STEICHEN. In May 1895, in the
obituary of his mother, he was listed as proprietor of the Steichen lumber
yards of St. Cloud, Minnesota but was said to be in Minneapolis, Minnesota
(whether he was living there or only visiting is unknown). He next
