I am making headway on my Brattain line with some great helpers. I have two brothers, William and Lemmons both born in IN. William born 13 oct 1810 and Lemmons born 20 Mar 1850 in Wayne Co., IN. I found a land record for William stating he was William Brattain Jr. in Farmington, Van Buren, IA, where he and Lemmons lived in 1830-1840's. Barbara, I found several articles for the Schlarbaum name in the Mt. Pleasant News 1. Jan. 13, 1947, attended a PTO meeting in Oak Grove 2. Aug. 17, 1949, obit for Joseph Roth, a sister Sussie Schlarbaum preceded him in death 3. May 27, 1950, mention of a birthday in May, 1950 for head nurse, Mrs. Schlarbaum at a birthday party held for patients at the State Mental Hospital in Mt. Pleasant. 4. I found several articles in the Mt. Pleasant newspaper that are available through NewsArchives.com. It's a database of scanned microfilms of newspapers available at my local library.
