Pat, your biographies look fine to me. My e-mail program automatically wraps and the paragraphs seem to be okay on my end. If you use
 at the beginning and
at the end of the item before you copy and paste it into the e-mail program, it shouldn't change on you but go through the way you typed it. Norma Jennings

7. [IAHENRY] Henry County Genealogy Society. [1]
Hi listers, Lesley recently posted about the work of the Henry County Genealogical Society. I own a lot to them. I have visited the library in Mt Pleasant also and was very very happy to find to find all the listings and work that they have done. I am also guilty of not thanking them for all of that. I am sorry to hear that they have disbanded. I am planning on returning to that library before the snow starts flying. I live in Illinois so it is not too far. I wish I had the time to volunteer in o

16. Re: [IAHENRY] ATT:HCGS & News [1]
Norma, I talked to one of the members of the Henry Co., Genealogical Society about two weeks ago to get some clarification about why they were disbanding. There was a general lack on interest. They had tired by having a beginning genealogy class, but no one came. The few members that did attend meetings were not actively researching. Only 2 of the founding members are alive. And many are in poor health. There didn't seem to be enough energy to start any kind of new project to preserve Henry Co

Cathy, I look forward to receiving these and do more than 'scan'...Today was a nice surprise. It mentioned my Father's Grt Uncle, R.S. Cole and daughter Laura. This is the first 'positive' info I've found about them in Mt. Pleasant, which hopefully may lead to others researching my families. Thank you for your time and effort you put into transcribing these. I know they must be of great help to many others, as well. Jacque

23. Re: [IAHENRY] Re Military Records [1]
Thank you, Norma, for clarifying that. I was horrified at the thought of no longer being able to check out family military records! Blocking a person's social security number is a good idea with all of the identity theft going on. Jayne
24. RE: [IAHENRY] Re Military Records [1]
In most places, immediate family members can still get copies of military records. They may just block out the social security number which was the main reason for closing them. You may have to have some proof of your own relationship such as a birth certificate if it is your father's records. Sincerely, Norma Jennings
