1. Vorheis Cemetery [1]
have found several names of people buried in a Vorheis Cemetery in Henry County. Is it possible that there is an index of this cemetery and that I could obtain the full list of those buried there? The names I am searching for are Hice/Hise, Vorheis, and, perhaps, Van Nuys. I have gone through the cemeteries on The Henry County Page but haven't found any of these names listed. Unfortunately, all of the above names may be spelled in a variety of different ways. Any suggestions? Mary Hise King in C

If any of you have had difficulties accessing the Henry County webpages the past few days, please be patient. The website is being completely revised and it takes a little while for all the changes to take place. For instance, GenConnect has been installed and a new Search Engine that will search the entire site has been installed. Unfortunately, the site is rather large and it will take the Search Engine three or four days to completely index the whole site so you can access it. By this time next week, it
8. Re: Vorheis Cemetery [1]
Mary, There is a set of indexes for most or all the cemeteries in Henry County published by the Henry County Genealogical Society but I don't have access to them. These indexes are organized by township. Do you know what townwhip Vorheis Cemetery is located? You could probably get a quicker response by writing the Henry County Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 81, Mt. Pleasant, IA. You would also get an answer from the Mt. Pleasant Public Library, 200 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, IA. 52641, (319) 385-3615. L
