8. [IAJONES] Bowers/Agens question [1]
Mike, My first thought is that something happened to Elisa Agens' parents that brought her to live with the Bowers. Maybe she is a niece, or even a young sister to Susan. If there is a Soundex to the 1850 Iowa census, you could check that for the Agens name; depending on the month of her birth, Elisa could be on that census with her parents. Just a thought. Good luck in your quest. Pat (in MN)
9. [IAJONES] Bowers / Agens question [1]
I've been looking to fill out information on William Bowers, listed in 1856 Census records of Cass Township, Jones Co., Iowa as age 24, and at the time of census, lived in Iowa 2 years. Wife, Susan E. Bowers, age 22, 1 year in Iowa. What puzzles me is the listing of a child, Elisa Agens, age 6, born in Iowa. Anyone who might help with clarifying this mystery? Also lacking death dates and burial information for William and for Susan. Any help appreciated! Mike Griffith GriffiMJ@muohio.edu
