Have you contacted the Clerk of the District Court's office for Linn
County., Cedar Rapids, Iowa. There should be a death record even though
the death was a suicide. I have obtained death records (one a suicide) from
that office. There will be a charge. State that it is for genealogy
purposes. Good luck

I've been given some family data that includes a quote from the 1878 History of
Linn County:
> Linn Co., Iowa History, 1878 says "Jonathan Dennison located on his present
farm, near there, about 1840".
Could someone check this for me and see if this is all that is said about him,
and if there are any other references to the families of Dennison/Denison or
Halleck/Hallick/Hallock?
Thanks,

The daughter of Wm. W. and Ancy Carter Nelson.
Mrs. W. C. Meyer was living in CR in 1950 and listed as a survivor of her
father in his obituary. Wm. W. Nelson died in San Diego, CA, but had been a
painter/decorator in CR up to 1937-38 when he relocated to CA.
I'm looking for descendants of Mrs. W.C. Meyer in the hopes of learning
more about the NELSON family.

I'm looking for information about Sally Engel who was married first to
David Saha, divorced and then married to an R. Carney. We believe she
was living in Cedar Rapids as of October 1931 as Mrs. R. Carney. She is
believed to have committed suicide at some later point in time, at a
son's home in Cedar Rapids.
Any clues would be appreciated. We do not know where she is buried, or
her date of death.
Are there coroner's records from that era on file in Cedar Rapids? I
figured those records may be helpful in e
