Greetings Listers,
Have run into a brick wall, perhaps there is someone that can give me some
clues.
This CHOPPER family has me stumped in Jones Co., Iowa. Learned today on the
June 1999 release of the SSDI there was a Phillip Chopper listed death date
of 10 January 1998 in Cedar Rapids - noticed that he was born in Colorado 07
May 1945.
My Gr. Grandfather born (1854) in Ohio lived near Anamosa, Iowa and went
west to Colorado - died in Colorado Springs 1904. Have noticed from some of
my records that Phi
Any chance that Ray could be Rea? My g-great grandfather, John Wesley Rea
lived in Fairfax, Linn Co. from the late 1860's until the late 1880's when
he moved to Pratt Co., KS and then to Woods Co., OK.

Charles & Clara.

Seeking any information on Irma V. Thompson who died Feb 8, 1949 most likely
in Cedar Rapids. She was married to an Edwin "Ed" Cashen. She would have
been around age 53 at time of death and of course under the name Irma Cashen.
Is there anyone out there that can do a lookup either in death or obits?
Thanks!
Steven

Anybody ever hear of my great great grandfather's sister, Sally Engel? She
was born on 5 August 1856 in Bahlingen, Baden. She was married to David Saha
of Palo and this marriage apparently ended in divorce. Her children as of
1900 were David, Arthur, and Louis (deceased).
The last trace of her that I have is a newspaper reference to her as Mrs. R.
Carney of Cedar Rapids in 1931.
Oh yeah, a 98 year old man I interviewed in about 1978 remembered Sally
always wore red shoes!
Any clues are appreciated.

"Hello, to everyone",
I'm hoping to find information on a James Hunter, who settled in Linn
County (Bertram) in about 1836. He married Helen Flaherty. James was a
farmer from what I've been told. Apparantely he came directly from
Ireland with 2 brothers, (names unknown to me) around what I figure to
be 1834. I'd like to find out exactly when he sailed here & where he was
from, in Ireland. James & Helen had children, but I only know of one:
Jesse Franklin Hunter, born: 8-16-1872, in Bertram, IA & who eventu
