I don't know if we're related, but there was a Heinrich HORST who married a STEIN or STEEN, that was related to my family. They lived in Ellsworth Co., KS for a while. Do you know of any such people? I am the grt grt grandchild of Mary Ann Baker born 1819 Ohio, who married Thornton Provens in Zanesville, OH in 1837. I am a direct descendant. I was born under the Provens surname, which we think was spelled Provines and Provins, for a while. Unknown reason for it. My G Grandmother Mary Jane Baker and her parents were in Davenport in 1866 when Mary Jane Baker married Charles L. Hoffman, They subsequently moved to Audubon County, IA in about 1871. Mary Jane's Father was Robert Baker and her mother was Liza Owen(s) Baker. Robert and his family also moved to Audubon Co. about the same time. The Bakers were from Carlton Scroop, Lincolnshire, England. I do not know if there were other related Bakers in the Davenport area at that time. I am most interested if there is

Thanks Shari: There was a Nathan BAKER, born 1785 in North Carolina. He married Elizabeth Knox BAKER. I believe this this Nathan lived in Johnson County, IL and later moved to Pope County, IL and was buried in Pope County, IL. Thanks, Bonnie.
