Post to List - Gary Speck - Peter J - Jacque Martindate
Dear List,
I typed Bio of Delter Arp today. He helped build the road from Davenport to
Warcourt. Where is Warcourt? Thanks.
To Gary Speck:
There is an Adolph Kahles (no Y) in the first Vol page 833
To Peter J.,
I will be happy to type your obit as I said last month in our emails. You
can do it or I will be happy too. I never had a copy before now. Please
email me to let me know what you want me to do.
To Jacque Martindate,
Vol 1 has:
Alex, this is a different book - The bio's I am typing on the site are from
1882 - The ones I am doing look-ups for all of you are from a different book
- 1910 - so if you need me to scan and send I will.

A while back, someone asked about Camp Ford in Tyler, Texas where many
of the 34th Iowa were imprisoned during the Civil War.
The Camp Ford Foundation and Smith County Historical Commission have
purchased the entire site and are in the process [as money is available]
restoring the outlines of the compound. The hope to have a museum on
the site - someday. Of the 300 Union soldiers who died at Camp Ford,
the remains were sent to Alexandria National Cemetery at Pineville,
Louisiana in 1890. All are identif

Dear List,
I am sorry, I did not realize that the email to Luciann was to the group and
not personal. LOL As a lot of you know I like to talk (type). LOL
Just to note: There is a 2 to 3 day wait on the look-ups now but we still
have 2 - 1/2 weeks left. I am getting to them as quickly as I can.

Good morning!
I have put this list to moderated for a short period of time. That means
that any messages posted to the list will come to me, and I will then
forward them to the list.
The purpose behind this is to stop certain genealogical spammers. I have
one particular person who is joining most of my lists, sending a message
which has little or nothing to do with the particular list, and then
unsubscribing.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Good afternoon group.
While organizing my lineage for these families, I was re-reading my Great
Grandfather's Bible entires. In German, in faded "old style" handwriting.
Ran across a bit of new info.
Can anyone tell me about a circa 1900 era German Lutheran Church in Mallard?
OR in Ayreshire? My Great Grandfather Fred BRATTMILLER married Flora
GROENOW (2nd marriage for him) on Aug 18, 1904. The pastor was Gustav
GROENOW (I assume Flora's father). Witnesses were Maria ZECH (or K), and
Gusta

Dear List,
Cathy has reorganized a section of the Scott County Page and it really looks
good.
She has combined the Histories of the Townships into one section. We have a
lot more to add once they are typed. The new ones added are:
History of Cleona Township (following are the surnames)
History of Allens Grove Township (following are the surnames)
"Pioneer Life" It's really fun to read but no surnames.
We are working on "Chronology of Scott County" It is a long one with many
surnames and will be add

I have some relatives in Davenport area named Ott. Could they be one and
same? Mine are Detlef Ott, son Edward Ott, married to Mary Goutlin Von
Edward, they had seven children, one of which is my great grandmother, Anna
Ott Johnson. Mary died at the age of 30 shortly after birth of my
g-grandmother. Sounds like any of your Ottos? C
Sorry I'm a little confused. Which book does this index apply to?
Thanks!
