Any information on this man, his family, and a brother named Michael, John also had a son named Irvine, who was killed in a train/car accident around 1921 in Germantown. Any info, greatly appreciated.
Here's an interesting National Park Service web page for Union and Confederate Soldiers and Sailors, prisoners, national parks, etc. Cemeteries will be added in the future.

I'm looking for more information on the death record
for James Jonathan Justice, page 207, record # 76.
Thank you!

I am searching information on the life and times of my ggfather William Crow
White who married Lucinda Creel Feb 03, 1828 in Clinton Co.(?) Lucinda's
father was John Creel. Wm C White and his father Daniel White and his
brother, also Daniel (who died in 1891 or 3) were members of the Old
Settlers Association.
Wm C was the first census taker and later was the Sheriff of Clinton Co.
They had to have been good buddies with the Justices. Was Mary a sister of
Lucinda?

Sorry, I don't have any information on him but just know because we lived in
St. Clair County, Illinois.

The family on the group photo is my great-grandmother Elizabeth Zimmermann
Strotheide (Mrs. Jacob William) and her children: William, Mary
(Kohlbrecker), John, Emil (my grandfather), Samuel. It was taken in front
of their home in New Baden about 1912. I haave an original of this photo so
I won't bid on it but wanted to let others on the list know who they are. I
can't pull up the second photo of the young man. Hope this is of interest
to someone. Phyllis Strotheide Culpepper

Hi,
I am a new subscriber and am just starting to research the VAREL/VARREL
surname, for someone else.
I am interested in the HERMAN VAREL [1848-1910] who became a
naturalized citizen in 1880 in Clinton Co. Who were his parents? There
is a Johann VAREL [1826-1915] who is buried in the St. Cecelia Cem.,
[as is Herman and his wife, Margaretha SCHEMEL VAREL]. Is this Johann
Herman's father, or uncle or who??
I know that Margaretha's mother's name was ANNA, but can't find them in
the census... who was

Gloria,
I understand about the different spellings. I have found them on all
the census and they are from Germany with the spelling MUELLER or
MULLER. MUELLER is also listed on the marriage listings that I found at
the Clinton Co. website, so in this case, I think that is the majority
of the spellings but will keep an open mind about MILLER. Thanks for
the tip about Washington Co... didn't know that. The family w
