Looking for any information on my gggrandfather, Richard Shulan Bond a lawyer in Carlisle, Clinton County, Illinois
was listed as 25 years old in the 1850 census -would love to have any information on any family. He was married to Mary E. Fechtig from Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland.

you to use. We work through the Illinois coordinator of the US-census
project, http://www.us-census.org/states/illinois/illinois.htm
We will also need a volunteer in a month or so to start proofing the 1870
census that Kelly Isaak lostcreek@netwitz.net is transcribing. Again, I

The maps are modern-day, but for those of you who have the legal description
of an ancestors land holdings (perhaps from the Bureau of Land Management,
the State of Illinois Public Land Sales database, or an old deed), current
roads, railroads, and (most importantly) township delineations are shown. I
was able to precisely locate each one of the five pieces of Public Land Sale

For those who may be researching families who had students in Alberger School, or for those who may this interesting, I have in my collection of Stein family items a Souvenir program that belonged to my Aunt, Helen Stein, when she was a student at Alberger in 1904 - 1905. The cover and back were made of embossed card stock and there was a place on the cover for your own picture.
The second page was headed ALBERGER SCHOOL, Clinton County - Illinois and (in the case of this Souvenir) September 12, 1904 - Ap
Here is an interesting article on copyright, always a confusing issue.

Could someone please do a lookup for me from the 1850 Clinton Co., Illinois census? John Otis Blue (Blew?Belew?) b.1844. I do not have Johns parents names but his mother may have been Susan. His siblings are Lee, Benjamin, and Lida (or Lela).
Thank you very much!

Interesting site. However, I seem to be missing something... where,
on the site, do I have the opportunity to locate the position based
on legal land description? It sounds like you successfully did this
somehow, but I'm not seeing that option.
Thanks,
William Taber, Indianapolis

A quote from my dad:
"The `Gashouse Gang', when they weren't playing ball, would come over
to Fred Deutsch's bar in Breese."
I assume this was a local baseball team, probably in the 1930's or
1940's, as the Fred Deutsch who owned the bar died in 1950.
Does anyone know anything about this?
Carol
