I'm searching for additional information about Robert Bowles, who resided in Clinton Co., IL, in 1840. (The name is Boles in other records.) Robert purchased 40 acres in Carlyle Township in 1839. He was involved in a land transaction in 1848. In 1849 the heirs of Robert Boles paid taxes on property in Clinton Co.
I have evidence that three of his children were William M. Boles, Martha A. Boles and James Boles. The 1830 census of Clinton Co. indicates more children in the family, but I don't know the n

Lavina Row married Elias Chaffin in 1828 and they went off to
Anderson/Houston county Texas. Eli died in mid 1840's leaving Lavina with
many small children. She
then married James W. Parker ( his niece was THE Cynthia Parker captured by
Commanche Indians ). Lavenia lived into her 80s dying in 1892 in Houston Co.
TX.
I believe that Ellis - his father - came from Christian Co. KY. What's the
Johnson connection?

Janet,
I am used to seeing Row spelled Rowe in documents of the time. My
connection is with Mary Jane Rowe who married John M White on 15 Oct. 1840.
JMW was the brother of my great grandfather William Crow White.
John M was present at the death of my Wm. and the family appeared to be
fairly close. Several of the brothers were lawyers and the whole Rowe family
was/were? neighbors and friends. Also interesting is the joint use of
several names that run in both families. I have the names of MJ and Joh

I went to Clinton and Montgomery counties last month. That's when I

that Lavina E. Row was his sister, but never had proof. I would love to

Did Jacob and Mary have any descendents?
