What Wood family are you researching. My Great grandfather was Richard Wood who married a Mildred Knowles. Linda, I was there a few years ago and to take photos of the family graves and visited and spent about a hour with my Uncles wife which was still living, trying to get information from her. I did notice that Shumway had changed as like you said residential area. That little town square wasn't there and I was trying to paint a mental picture for him like it was. Margarette Davis, I talked with Onieda Lewis and she said Lowell wrote a book about the BIRCH side of his family. It was called THE BIRCH TREE, The descendants of Thomas Jefferson Birch. Onieda does have information about the LEWIS family.
