Hi,
The town of Beaverville was originally named Sainte-Marie, the same as the
name of the parish. When the town fathers attempted to incorporate the town
in the late 1800s, they found out there was another town by that name in
southern Illinois, so they had to come up with a different name. Since the
town was just south of the Big Beaver Creek and was then located in Beaver
Township, they decided to name it Beaverville. Now that the original
French-Canadian population of the town has subsided, the chur
My husband is undergoing an angiogram and probably angioplasty later this
morning. They will be working in an old graft.
Those of you who have been in touch with me for a looooong time may recall
that this is our third trip for this type of procedure.
The last two trips ended in coronary artery bypass surgery.
He's a little nervous. I'm a wreck.
I'll send mail again this afternoon or tonight to let you all know how
things go.

If anyone on the list is related to a DIONNE family from Beaverville, there
is an old post card for auction on eBay that has a photo of the Holy Family
Academy with a postmark of March 2, 1907 and a handwritten message in French.
According to the listing, the writer is Pricille DIONNE. The card was addressed
to Michel THERIEAULT in Canada, but forwarded to Salem Mass. I am not
promoting eBay auctions, but thought anyone with a family connection might like to
know about this historical item. The eb
Hi Marge! Good to hear from you.
There is a link at the bottom of the newspaper's Web site that will let you
write to the editor.
Which I have done.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about the Divelbiss family that
lived in Iroquois, Ford, and Kankakee counties in the late 1800s to the 1930s.
Thanks.

Good news, bad news.
Well, the good news is they did not do an angioplasty today and Bill is home
now.
The bad news is, there will be surgery sometime soon. He has a valve that
has to be replaced. They want to replace it before he becomes symptomatic.
While they are at it, they will do some more grafts. One of his old grafts
is 80 percent blocked.
This is especially risky because it will be a third open-heart surgery, but
not doing it is risky, too, because the valve WILL fail and he may have a
heart attack
Just go to Google.com and paste into the search line; 'Norwegians that
settled in Illinois', and you will be very happy with the results. Shumway

I once looked up some information on a McClure - Hunt family for someone on this site. Yesterday I ran across a wedding write-up for Miss Della Hunt and Mr. Frank McClure 12-14-1906 and printed it out - hoping I could remember who I had done searching for: However, I cannot. . I have the copy if it is wanted. ladybug@arends-sons.com
Good Morning List, About 2 months ago, I received a site which listed all
the Norwegians that settled in Illinois. It was listed by County and no doubt
the list was taken from the Census. I don't remember the date of the Census.
I had computer problems and lost the site. Is anyone familiar with that site?
I would love to have the address of it if any of you have it. Thank you.

Does anyone in Ford County area have updates of the Ford County Cemeteres or Ford County obits? I have just finished typing and submitting records from Drummer Twp Cemetery in Gibson City and looking for more to add to the site. Or even a box of old obits concerning your family and/or friends. I think an obit contains more information (usually) than most individual sites when it comes to researching - and I have the time to type. Gail Hahn Hutchcraft

Good morning, I am looking for a site I had a few months ago and lost. It
was a site that listed all the Norwegian's names that lived in Illinois. I
think it was taken from the Census, and the names were listed by county. Is
anyone familiar with that? I would love to have that site again if anyone has it.
Thank you. Iona Holderness
Are you volunteering, David? A list of names to the list would give people
the opportunity to ask for details on specific obits.
I think that if only the statistics and names of survivors were given in
list form rather than a copy and paste of the obituary, it would not violate
copyright laws.

Hi Kathleen,
If you or anyone else is interested, you can go to St. Mary's Church in
Beaverville and purchase a replica of this 1907 photograph, along with 11
other postcards of the church and academy for $5.00. I just returned from
there with this package.
