Hi Wes, Trev, Sheldon, Sheila & the rest of the Franklin County list.
Thanks for the welcome. Wes, I was actually born in El Centro California. My birthmother came from central Illinois via train so I'm the only one out here. ALL of my biological family is in Illinois or Indiana. I'm still in California, Sacramento to be exact.
RE: Melvina Tate
The information I have is that she was born 25-Jan-1838 in "Tates Corner". I have her father as either Ezra or John Ezra Tate.

You sure are wonders for my carpal tunnel syndrom...:-)
I do appreciate you keeping some of the typing to a minimum.... like last
names.. which FTM types in automatically.
Andrew seemed to be doing his best to take some of the load off Mr W. Dungee
who, according to you data might have been doing the same for Mr Spenser.
Was that a typo or W. Dungee married to two different Spensers too?

The actual downtown (business district) of Macedonia is in Hamilton

My opinion (?) the copywrite entitles the 'owners' the rights of
reprints for monitary gains. As researchers. we've ALL copied data from
books for our own files and usage, but when/if 'we' were to include the
materials in a 'book' we would need permission and possibly pay for the
right to reprint their information for our right to gain $$$ off their
copywritten material.
As a student, I have to 'site' my sources when using materials for books
and magazines and internet sites
My grandmother's parents, who lived in Edgar County until the 1880s, when they
bought land in Six Mile Township, near Christopher, has both Jonathan and John
in the family.
In our family Bible, scribed by my ggrandmother Hannah Anna SMITH nee: STARK,
the daughter of Jonathan D. STARK and Nancy ?, she abbreviated Jonathan as
Jno. and John as Jhn, Robert as Rbt. and William as Wllm. I don't know if
these were standard
abbreviations.

In the Newsletter, Jan. 1999 issue of the Genealogy Society of Southern

JoAnn,
Sadly the thing is true, the House passed it on March 25, 1998. In
September the Senate passed a slighly different bill. The two bodies
worked out a compromise and on Oct 7, 1998. The House and Senate passed
(S. 505). President Clinton signed the bill on Oct 27 1998.
This passage of this bill is living proof that birds of a feather do
flock together.
The bill was passed at the urging of Walt Disney Co., the Gershwin heirs
and many others with BIG MONEY to give to Washington D.C. politicians,
