Linda,
I checked the marriage records that you asked about and here is the information you requested:
William Henshaw age 26, race White, born in KY, address Henshaw, Kentucky, occupation farmer, Father Phelix Henshaw, Mother Mary Pool, first marriage
Mattie Jones age 21, race white, born in KY, address Henshaw, KY, Father George Jones, Mother Mary Sleet, first marriage. The date listed for this marriage was October 8, 1895.
John E. Henshaw age 36, race white, born in Union County, KY, address Union
Could someone please do a look up for me of the following marriages?
WILLIAM M. HENSHAW md. Mattie Jones 10/8/1895
John E. Henshaw md. Mary Halley Thomas Gallatin 12/11/1900.
If someone that has a marriage book could look these up, I would appreciate
it. Who parents were, J.P. etc.
Thanks,
Linda Holmes White
HELP!!!
I recently received the Civil War Full Pension Application File for John J.
POOL (my great grandfather). Because of a contact I made since receiving
it, I have reason to suspect that my family may have been from either White
Co., IL or Gallatin Co., IL.
According to census records, they would have been there prior to 1850. I
have a file of census records for 1850 - 1920 on various members of my
family. From 1850 - 1900, they were in Polk, Sebastian, and Scott Co., AR.
Some of them were born in
I am lloking to see if there was a a William A. Carter b. 1824 in VA in
Gallatin County in 1850. Wife named Mary Finney. Possibly owned land in the
area. Is any one free to do a lookup for me?

I know this is off topic, but I felt it was just too important not to warn everyone.

All,
The SMOCK family of C. and Sarah SMOCK was enumerated in USC 1810 Randolph
Co., IL Terr. Sarah was shown as a widow in 1816 and is listed on censuses
of 1818 and 1820 in Pope Co.. While the count of household members was
large, I can only account for f1ve children: 2 females, Nelly and Matilda,
and three sons, Hiram, Barney and Alfred. This family was listed on several
occassions as from Cave in Rock which over time was in Randolph, Gallatin,
Pope and now Hardin Cos.
Sarah died at age 78 in 1

Hi Listers,
I'm finally back from my cemetery quest. Let me tell you, I have a
new appreciation for those who are willing to do the cemetery
transcriptions. There are more cemeteries in Southern Illinois than I
could count! It's a wonder there is any population left.
I did not try to transcribe all of the cemeteries I went to. Some
of which I found by accident. I haven't gotten my pictures back yet.
That will follow. Thank god for my mother and sister. Without their
help I'd never have gotten
I am new to your list so "hi" to everyone.
I am searching for descendants of Charles W. Morris born about 1820 in TN and his wife Malinda born about 1823 in TN. They were on the 1880 census for Gallatin Co. IL census.
There was a dau. Lizzie C. born about 1866 in IL still at home in 1880.
I believe this to be the Charles W. Morris that was in Hardin Co. TN in 1850 & 1860, if so the other known children were:
David or Daniel born about 1841 prob Hardin Co. TN
George born 1848 probably Hardin Co. TN

Hi Everybody,
I'm looking for any information on the Edwards family that lived in Gallatin
County from about 1869 to 1880 or so. Rich Edwards is shown in the 1870
census for Gallatin County as living with his wife Missouri(King), his
daughter Mary, his brother James and Mary A. Tally, whom I have reason to
believe is Richard and James' mother. There was also a son, James born about
1870 after the census was taken.
Rich died in March of 1880, just a month or so after his son Walter was born.
I have

sister in law, JINCY DURHAM, who was a member of the Saline Creek Baptist
Church. A committee was organized in Jan 1840 to resolve the matter. I was

Probably the typical summer busy schedules. It is usually busier in the
Winter when we are all snowed in. And right after everyone gets new Chritsmas
comptuers to try out. When summer starts run down people come back with all
their new stuff and it usally gets busy again. Liesa
