I am looking for any information with respect to SAMUEL CROUSE who was living
in Hamilton County in 1830. More specifically, was he related to KATHERINE
CROUSE who was married to PETER RUPARD; and was he related to DANIEL CROUSE?
SAMUEL CROUSE was a witness to PETER RUPARD'S will. Many thanks.

I wanted you all to know that I have not been able to get online with
Juno for the last 3 months. I know that I have missed a large number of
e-mail - which I certainly do regret.
I wanted to send this letter out to all of my family and friends to
announce my NEW E-MAIL address. Let's get back into the swing of things
by sending me stuff at: BLKington@auxware.com
Be sure to update your address book as I will no longer be using this
JUNO e-mail address.

Misty,
Thank You for this information. I am one of those guilty of
procrastinating, but with that big of an increase in price , I will have to
get on the ball.

Hello Listers,
I was wondering if anyone would be going to the court house in Hamilton
County anytime soon? I am looking for a record of divorce there. I have all
the information that would be needed to locate the record. I just need
someone to find it, and make a copy of it for me. I'll reimburse copying and
postage charges. LMK and I'll send the information needed through email.
Thanks

Teresa,
There were no Vantrease in Hamilton or White Counties in 1850. On the 1860
Hamilton County CensusI did find James E. VANTRICE, aged 21 years, born in IL
living with Clemence H. PORTER family, 35 years born in KY. There was a
John VANTREACE, age 16 years living with Wesley W. GHOLSON family.
In 1860 White County Census there are Ventress, Lorick F. , 71 years, born in
N.C.
There is another family S. W. Vertress, 29 born in KY, wife Mary E.

Unfortunately, I am no help to you, but wanted to let you know that I did check a reference book on the "Early Johnson's of Hamilton County" (2000, compiled by Rev. Bill Dupree). It contained no Leanore Johnson, no Leanore Browning, (Leander and other spellings, but no Leanore) nor did it have Johnathon Browning. Sorry I can't help, but if you have more information (such as birth and death dates), I'll try to keep an eye out for you, as I'm researching my Johnson ancestors in Hamilton County.
Theresa,
If no one is going to the courthouse in Hamilton County, you could probably
write to them and identify the records you need and they could send them to
you. I don't think any staff members will do our research, but usually they
will pull records if they are identified.

Is anyone on the List researching the Simon McCoy line? If so, what was his mother's maiden name and where/when were she and Joseph McCoy married?

moved to Illinois from Tennessee. At the time of the 1840 Census, they had a 3 year old boy with them, 2 teenagers (1
boy & 1 girl), and 2 in the 50-60 a

Unfortunately, I didn't find the news you are looking for. However, the Sullivan newspaper is on-line and has obituaries. The url is http://www.newsprogress.com , so you might find it there in a day or two. Their last update was 5/31, so it should show up by next week or so. Best of luck. FYI, there were no Mauldings on there today (Sunday, 6/3/01).
