5. [ILJEFFER-L] Lowerys to Texas? [1]
Do you have any names of some of the earliest Lowerys to Texas? I don't know that I would even recognize names but thought it might help. Am really hung up on Lowerys and Taylors and McMahons that lived in and around Hamilton and Jefferson County, ILL from around 1830 forward. Of coarse couldn't do much until found the family names in the 1850. Found some early Lowerys in 1830 in ILL and Taylor and McMahon and Lowery in the 1840 but as you know, no given names listed until 1850. Real shame that 18
6. Re: [ILJEFFER-L] Noble Anderson [1]
Looking for Anderson researchers that may have come across the names Crosnoe & Wilkerson and either have made an association or have no clue. My Crosnoe was listed on 1850 census and Martin Anderson. Mother Rachel Crosnoe divorced "Crosnoe" some 16 mos prior to the birth of Martin. Hmmmm? Anyone? 7. [ILJEFFER-L] will keep my eyes peeled for you [1]
Robert, You know I had heard about Lowry's Hill and so on, but didn't know its prior name. I jump everytime I see anything regarding cemeteries in Jefferson County because I feel my George Taylor and even possibly his wife Dorcas [Lowry] Taylor are buried in that county SOMEPLACE. Dorcas may have passed away over in Dahlgren in Hamilton county and that may be why he went on over into Jefferson County; however, many of their children lived over in Jefferson by 1860 so that may be his reason. Thanks

Thanks but no. I knew about the Bond marriage with Rachel. I'm hoping to find anyone researching those names who may have an Anderson connection. Janean ----- Original Message ----- From: "P. S." The URL is so long that it sometimes breaks off onto the next line. If that happens you have to put it back together (put it all on one line, connected) for it to work. I read Robert L. Webb's message about Sugar Camp Creek Church and I went to the website he mentioned and I found my gr-gr-grandfather Noble Anderson mentioned as an elder in several different churches including Sugar Creek. His daughter's obituary mentions him as a Baptist minister, would elder be the same thing? Would there be some way to find an obituary for him or article? Deborah dlpitezel@prodigy.net D. 13. Re: [ILJEFFER-L] Sugar Camp Creek Church (later called Lowry's Hill) [1]
Yes, the Hamilton county website account of the Missionary Baptist Sugar Camp Creek gives Silas Williams as one of the ministers who organized them in 1842. But the Franklin Association was organized, I think, in 1841, rather than 1848. I have a copy of the history here but couldn't find it this morning (it is a xerox copy in a file folder), but this is what Coffey's history says. Coffey's history, which we reprinted, gives information about it. Robert On Tue, 10 Jun 2003 15:10:40 -0500 "BLS"

Dear Robert, I wish to goodness I knew when those people died. I find them in Hamilton County, ILL in Dahlgren Twp, I believe it is; right next door to Jefferson County I believe anyway, in 1850 and Dorcas is enumerated with the family. By 1860, George has gone over to Jefferson County and lives in Mt. Vernon ; line 38; 2041/1986 George Taylor age 50 NC Elizabeth Taylor age 30 TN widow Joshua Taylor 24 TN Mary A. Taylor 16

Sugar Camp Cemetery has a complete listing. The page begins with the North side but if you continue down the page the South side follows. On the cemetery index page there is note about the North side but that only refers to pictures. There are a few pictures linked to the North section the entire cemetery has not been photographed as yet, but the listing itself is complete.
