Hi! Looking for the death dates for Levi Taylor (1778-?) and his wife Nancy Ann Rowlett Taylor (May 3, 1789-?). I found pictures of their gravestones in a Johnson County history book, but no directions on how to get there. Yes. Reed Smoot is buried at Reynoldsburg. I went last year on a research visit to Johnson County. I descend from Reed Smoot's sister Nancy Beale Smoot. I also descend from Benjamin Franklin Kelly who is buried in Johnson CO. Patty Rich

Louise and Joy, Thank you for responding. I saw a filmed copy of the index years ago and wrote down the people I was interested in, but could not get the book. Floyd -- I have some info on the Yandell line. Philander's granddaughter Olive (known in the family as Ollie) was my grandfather's stepmother. She & g/grandpa William Lambert didn't have any children of their own, but in adding her info to my files I also got some on her family. Also, I have a Lillie Vancleve, who married James Burns, half-brother of my gg/grandmother. She was born about 1862, but I'm not sure who her parents were. I've enjoyed reviewing a copy of Parker's History of Johnson County two or three times. My local library was able to get a copy through the interlibrary loan system. There is no cost to the borrower. It's interesting to look through the book and you may discover connections that you wouldn't have thought of otherwise. Ed

I'm glad to tell you about the 'Parker Book', The frontspiece says......Parker's History of Johnson County, Illinois......Published in 1977 Published in the United States of America - Illustrated history of Johnson County, Illinois - Rose Parker Bucciferro, Editor there are 410 pages, not including the index, several histories of people who grew up in Johnson Co,, several pictures - courthouse, some portraits, maps etc. mostly it's lists of people buried in cemeteries. Names Researched: CAMPBELL, LANCASTER, DRUM, WHITESIDE, WHITESIDES, JOHNSON These ancestors traveled around the Southern Illinois counties of Massac, Pulaski, Johnson, Pope and the Southeast Missouri counties of Scott and Cape Girardeau. Am especially interested in proof of the marriage of George M. CAMPBELL to Hattie Ann LANCASTER in Massac or Pulaski Counties on December 13, 1902. According to the family Bible, this is the correct date but I have been unable to verify it through either of these two count

Jeanne asked where I got the Parker Book of Johnson Co., IL and the index, my husband did the computer work for Dr. Wm. R. Lawrence when he compiled and published the Choates of Southern IL.....when Dr. Lawrence quit his research, he gave me his library of southern IL books......that's where I got these two books!!
